Fonds primarily consists of Carland’s correspondence with A. P. Thorton and C. P. Stacey, two prominent history professors with whom Carland studied as a doctoral student at the University of Toronto. Records also include news clippings and correspondence with historian Norman Hillmer related to C. P. Stacey.

Subseries consists of contracts, correspondence, and agreements with musicians and the Toronto Musicians' Association (TMA) for performances and recording sessions by Esprit Orchestra. Subseries includes contracts for regular orchestra members, guest artists, and agreements for collaborations with other groups, including the National Arts Centre Orchestra (NACO), Les Événements du neuf, National Youth Orchestra, Association Musique Actuelle de Québec (AMAQ), Canadian Opera Company (COC), and Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ).

David Wolfe and Meric Gertler fonds

Fonds consists of records documenting Wolfe and Gertler’s research collaborations through several initiatives including POIS (Project on Ontario’s Innovation System), PROGRIS (Program on Globalization and Regional Innovation Systems), the ISRN (Innovation Systems Research Network), and ONRIS (Ontario Network on the Regional Innovation System). There is also documentation of the ISRN’s receipt of two SSHRC MCRI (Major Collaborative Research Initiatives) grants. The ISRN was a network of researchers examining innovation in various cities and regions across Canada. The ISRN was launched in 1998 and received MCRI grants in 2001 and 2006. ONRIS was one of the five subnetworks of the ISRN, was hosted by PROGRIS at the Munk School of Global Affairs, and served as the ISRN’s National Secretariat.

Records include conference and meeting files, research papers, grant applications, reports, and budgets. Digital files further document these research initiatives and the administration of the grants. Included are website backups from 2002, 2005 and 2007, and web archive from 2021.

Henri Nouwen and the art of living: insights from a spiritual master

File consists of three copies of the five booklet study guide set based off of Henri Nouwen's essential teachings by Chris Pritchett and Marjorie J. Thompson. These sets are intended for personal or small-group sessions and was created by the Henri Nouwen Legacy Trust in conjunction with Creative Communications for the Parish for the 25th anniversary of Nouwen's death. The set is separated into the following books:

Like a strong wind

File consists of a copy of the text for a tribute to Nouwen for the 25th anniversary of his death by Michael Harank titled "Like a Strong Wind".

Correspondence

This series contains mainly professional correspondence with academic colleagues regarding research and professional activities. It documents the academic discussions and exchange of ideas between Hollander and well known international economists such as R.C.D. Black, Walter Eltis, T.W. Hutchinson, Mark Blaug, Martin Brofenbrenner, Don Patinkin, Giovani Caravale, Piero Bruchi, Maurice Daune, Ronald Meek, William Jaffe, A.P. Lerner, Hal Brauner, and R. Dorfman. Among his Canadian colleagues represented are Jack Robson, E.G. West, Scott Gordon, Harry Johnson, C.B. MacPherson, Tom Rymes, and A.M.C. Waterman.

His continued connections to his former universities are documented through his correspondence with Lord Robbins and Michio Morishima of the London School of Economics and with William Baumol and Fritz Machlup of Princeton University. Former students, academics in their own right, are also represented in the correspondence including Margaret Schabas, Evelyn Forget and Sandy Peart.

There is also extensive correspondence with Nobel Laureates Sir John Hicks documenting their collaborative research on Ricardo in the 1970s and with Paul Samuelson of MIT. Other Noble laureates represented include R.H. Coase, Kenneth Arrow, Arthur Lewis and George Stigler.

such as writing from other authors and awards. Accession includes correspondence to Atwood, letters and notes stored within books,
as well as publications featuring Atwood’s writing and interview transcripts.

Nancy Howell fonds

Records in this fonds mainly document Nancy Howell’s research on the !Kung San of Botswana. Her nearly three years researching in the field with her anthropologist husband Richard Lee were formative to a lifetime of research on the !Kung San hunter gatherers. Included is much of her original data that has formed the basis of her research in this area as well as the basis of research collaboration with others. More than half of this fonds is her original data on the !Kung San from that 1960s field trip.
Her two main works that are well documented in this accession are Surviving Fieldwork: Health and Safety in Anthropological Fieldwork (1990) and Life Histories of the Dobe !Kung (2010). Her teaching and administrative roles at the University of Toronto are not documented in this accession.
