Golden Venture Eagle paper sculpture

Sculpture made by the survivors of the Golden Venture ship while in prison in York. In a plexiglass and wood case. Includes a newspaper clipping from 2014 with notes from Harley Spiller.

2015 acquisition

The accession is arranged into the four series ‘Gig’, ‘Audio’, ‘Video’, and ‘Order of Canada’, which correspond primarily with the format of the record and have further subseries.

Series 01: Gig Series: Consist of material relating her to many concerts, both within Canada and internationally. Date of performance, and venue are noted.

Series 02: Audio Series: Arranges by media format, and with further subseries based on media format and subject matter, this series captures the wide array of Anne Murray’s musical career. Material includes live recordings, commercially released material, special edition box sets, recorded interviews and demos, and television and radio recordings. The last subseries consists of early Edison Cylinders and a player from the early 20th century.

Series 03: Video Series: Recordings of the many performances and television appearances done by Anne Murray. These include appearances with Alan Thicke, The Mike Douglas Show, and The Merv Griffin Show. Award ceremonies where Murray was present have been recorded and included, as have various television specials.

Series 04: Oder of Canada Series: A framed certificate and accompanying textual records for the Order of Canada.

Series consists of broadsides, posters, greeting cards, postcards, promotional material, and one chapbook designed by Deborah Barnett and produced at Someone.ca.

Personal records of David Richard Olson, Professor Emeritus OISE/UT and University Professor, documenting his career as a leader in educational theory and applied psychology, and consisting of files on his education and early teaching; journals, daybooks, and notebooks; correspondence; drafts (with associated correspondence) of articles, books, addresses, and some university lectures. Also included is a position paper on the McLuhan Centre for Culture and Technology (1981), some photoprints and postcards, and certificates of honours bestowed.

One video documents President Prichard's address at Spring Reunion on June 3, 2000. A CD containing photographs and a web presentation document the dedication of the Roy Oglesby Room at 21 King's College Circle. Two CDs document the University of Toronto 175th Banners. They contain portraits (Tif files) as well as images of each banner (PDF files). There are 136 people, mainly famous or accomplished alumni and faculty.

Banners (5) produced by the University to commemorate the 175th Anniversary. Banners were displayed on street polls along high traffic areas of the Greater Toronto Area. Each banner contains image of an individual graduate: Margaret Atwood, Peter Gzowski, J. Robert Prichard, Vaira Vike-Freiberga and Deborah McGregor. Also includes accompanying brochure with biographies of alumni.

University of Toronto. McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology

Consists of various administrative files including; policy statements and forms, human resources contracts, student files, budget information, student and faculty inquiries, yearly reviews and reports, program events, grant applications and general correspondence. The accession also consists of a large number of invoices and contracts. Many of the files appear to be from the desk of Derrick de Kerckhove, Director of the McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology from 1983 until 2008.

This accession consists of one artifact - a copy of The MacMillan Dictionary of Canadian Biography (3rd Edition), which is inscribed by the author, William Stewart Wallace, and given to the then Chief Librarian, R.H. Blackburn. The book was given to Chief Librarian Larry Alford by Blackburn in 2018.

Includes publications (ca. 1822-1927), a plan of a subdidvision in the eastern part of Port Hope, original keys and an external view of University College before the fire of 1890..

Hart House Camera Club

This accession from Hart House contains a quilt made the the Crafts Club to commemorate the University of Toronto's 150th anniversary. The quilt is made of squares designed by various members of the university community. The quilt was put together by Janice Page. Also included in this accession is a copy of the minutes of the Craft Club initiating the sesquicentennial quilt project in order to provide context.

This accession of records transferred from the Faculty of Information's Inforum Library contains the records of Winifred G. Barnstead, and document her work as the first Director of the Library School at the Ontario College of Education - the original incarnation of the Faculty of Information. The records document Barnstead's work in developing formalized training at the Library School during her tenure from 1928 to 1951. The records include correspondence with libraries and other library schools, UofT staff and faculty, drafts of manuscripts and articles written by Barnstead, School/Faculty informational bulletins, information on course programming and development, as well as some miscellaneous collected material relating generally to librarianship and library studies.
