Also includes letters from Nouwen responding to Curley's invitation to speak at the event and to other people who wished to see Nouwen during his stay in Washington.

Includes a letter from Nouwen to Hartley accepting the invitation to speak.

Includes Nouwen's handwritten notes on the subject of "Living in a Time of Grace" and a letter from Nouwen to DeMartini about his deliberation regarding accepting the invitation to be keynote speaker. [In the end Nouwen did not participate in this conference until 1994 and 1995.]

Nouwen was the keynote speaker for the Opening Ceremonies giving a talk entitled "The Hidden Treasure." He was also introductory speaker for a peace video entitled "Zabelka: The Reluctant Prophet" produced by Bart Gavigan. Includes substantial handwritten notes, the conference program and newsletter, and other reference material. Also includes letters from Nouwen to some members of Daybreak regarding the convention and their participation in Nouwen's presentation.

Toronto Conference of United Church of Canada - May 29-31, 1987

File consists of correspondence and other material from Rev. Kenneth R. Gallinger, regarding Nouwen's and other members of Daybreak's participation in the Toronto Conference of the United Church of Canada, in Orillia May 29-32, 1987. Includes a program and Nouwen's handwritten notes outlining the theme, and notes from planning committee meetings. The three themes of Daybreak's presentations were The Covenant Journey, The Covenant Community, and The Covenant Network. Also includes a letter from Nouwen to Gallinger confirming plans.

St. Benedict Center - July 5-11, 1987
