L'Arche International

File consists of agendas, meeting minutes, reports, strategic plans, progress reports, presentations, policies, and procedures of the International Federation of L'Arche.

The majority of the file is comprised of materials from L'Arche International Leadership Team (LTM) and International Stewardship meetings held between 2011-2017, which Card attended as an LTM member and representative of L'Arche Canada. In addition, the file also contains several legacy records, including guidance manuals and governance documents from 1996-2008, which predate Card's time as Executive Director.

Collection consists of printed materials including chapbooks, books, bound volumes, broadsides, posters, greeting cards, stationery, advertising materials, and other ephemera. The collection spans Deborah Barnett’s career as a designer, printer, and publisher at Dreadnaught Press, Dreadnaught Design, Someone.ca, and Someone Editions.

Chapbooks and production materials Barnett designed and produced as the College Printer at Kelly Library Print Studio are held in a separate collection, which is currently being processed.

File consists of administrative records for L'Arche Canada, including strategic planning documents, legal records, membership agreements, policies and procedures, employment contracts, insurance records, and L;Arche Canada Inc. General Operating By-Law documents.

File also includes statements and correspondence from L'Arche Canada in reaction to revelations of sexual abuse by Père Thomas Philippe, co-founder of L'Arche Trosly-Breui and mentor to Jean Vanier.

Majority of contents include copies in both French and English.

Item consists of a book in which Nouwen has written the introduction. Nouwen states in part: "'What book do I give to someone who wants to know what being-a-Christian looks like?' This is definitely the book. It is not a book about doctrines or dogmas but about the life in Christ."

Item consists of a book in which, on p. 15, Nouwen is quoted from Reaching Out : The Three Movements of the Spiritual Life. "To live a spiritual life, writes Henri Nouwen, 'means first of all to come to the awareness of the inner polarities between which we are held in tension.'"

Item consists of an interview titled "Vieren van elkaar" ["Celebrating together"]. Item also includes Nouwen's handwritten notes that he made during the interview. The notes include his drawings of the time-line and a wagon-wheel like figure with a dark centre.

Item consists of a book containing three of Nouwen's previously published books: Creative Ministry, The Wounded Healer, and Reaching Out. Sub-series consists of published articles representing interviews of and articles written about Nouwen between 1974 and 1996. The articles are in various formats including entire periodicals, offprints, clippings, and photocopies as originally saved by Nouwen. Specific publications include Harvard Divinity Bulletin, Catholic Times, Katholiek Nieuwsblad, Trouw, and Zaken die God raken. Articles from church newsletters and other sources with limited publication are also included. This sub-series does not contain all of the published interviews of and articles about Nouwen as is evident by several incomplete article series.
