This accession is divided into 4 series according to format: ‘Textual’, ‘Audio’, ‘Video’, and ‘Cinefilms’.
The first series, ‘Textual’, includes a small amount of documents relating to various Galafilm productions. Much of the material (on floppy disks) consists of production and other records pertaining to the various films and Galafilm’s business activities.
The second series, ‘Audio’, includes audio elements in several formats for productions. Of particular interest are recorded testimonies of veterans who were interviewed for The Valour and the Horror.
The third series, ‘Video’, includes video elements in several formats for productions such as Fire & Ice and The Voyage of the St. Louis. The vast majority of the videos represent unused material from documentaries like The Valour and the Horror. There are also final masters for each of the episodes in the various television productions.
The fourth series, ‘Cinefilms’, includes 16mm, Super16mm and 35mm negative and positive cinefilms from a number of productions, including The Hanging Garden, Two Thousand and None, and Lilies. There are also film materials from documentary films Ted Allan and Fire & Ice.
