Photographs

Series consists of promotional and personal photographs of J. Churchill Arlidge, his family, and groups to which he belonged, including the Independent Order of Foresters (Arlidge was the High Organist); Christ Church at Deer Park, Toronto, Ontario; and a Grand Jury in 1907, which was appointed to investigate and make recommendations regarding public institutions and services in Toronto.

Opera school

File contains programs, photographs, and some correspondence regarding the Opera School at the Faculty of Music.

Obituaries and other family documents

File contains an undated manuscript list of students with some addresses and telephone numbers; obituary notices for Dr. Daniel Garcia Guerrero; a letter from Lily Wilson; and [probably her] translation of Boyd Neel's Alberto Guerrero obituary. File aso contains portraits of Alberto Guerrero, photographs of Myrtle Rose Guerrero and of Melisande Guerrero, and unidentified photos.

Postmortem documents

Series consists of documents created after Leslie Bell's death, including letters of condolence written to his wife Leona Bell; copies of his obituaries; and, documents pertaining to the Leslie Bell Scholarship, which was established in his name by the Leslie Bell Singers Alumnae in 1971. The award was created to support choral conductors further their professional careers and enhance their conducting abilities. The award is managed by the Ontario Arts Council (OAC).

Signed photograph of André Messager

Item is an autographed photograph of the French composer André Messager (1853-1929) to Edward Johnson. In 1916, Johnson appeared as Walter in the opera Loreley (composed by Alfredo Catalani) at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, in a production conducted by Messager.

Signed photograph of Italo Montemezzi

Item is an autographed photograph of Italo Montemezzi for Edward Johnson, dated October 1918 at La Scala in Milan. Johnson performed the role of Marco Gràtico in Montemezzi's opera La nave at its premiere at La Scala (November 3, 1918), as indicated in the inscription.
