Fidelio / Ludwig van Beethoven

File consists of an annotated score, which includes additional typescript dialogue for a production by the Canadian Opera Company (COC). Carlos Alexander directed the first production of Beethoven's Fidelio in Toronto in 1970 with conductor Heinrich Bender. The production featured Anja Silja, soprano as Leonore and Glade Peterson, tenor as Florestan. Herman Geiger-Torel was general director of the COC at the time.

Collection consists of Herman Geiger-Torel's library of piano-vocal scores, including his markings and notes for various opera productions, including performances that he directed in Troppau, Czechoslovakia; Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires; Montevideo, Uruguay; Teatro Municipal, Rio de Janiero; Canadian Opera Company; and the Royal Conservatory of Music Opera School.

File consists of an annotated score with reviews of a Canadian Opera Company (COC) performance at the Shaw Festival Theatre in the St. Catherines Standard (December 10, 1973) and the rehearsal schedule for the COC's 1973-1974 tour. Rehearsals took place in the MacMillan Theatre. The production was directed by Herman Geiger-Torel.
