The collection consists of manuscript, computer-generated drafts, and galleys of Stillman Drake’s published works; offprints of his periodical articles; offprints of articles by other writers in the history of science; Drake’s correspondence; and book invoices; and miscellaneous items.

Contains typed manuscripts made by Drake with holograph notes of A.B. Johnson (1786-1897) pamphlets which he had been unable to buy because of their scarcity; correspondence with Johnson's descendants, scholars, and other Johnson collectors about Johnson, and the 1967 Johnson centennary conference in Uticah, N.Y. Many of Johnson's pamphlets are in the A. B. Johnson Collection.
