Academic [Larkin] Building

This sub-series consists of 305 items detailing the design and construction of the Larkin Academic Building. 'As built', or final revision, sets of drawings are included.

Additions and Alterations to St. Hilda's College, Devonshire Place, Toronto

This sub-series consists of 87 items showing the design and construction of the 1980 addition to St. Hilda's College. Drawings made in winter and spring 1980 are marked "OBSOLETE" due to the fact that they were not drawn in metric scale. Drawing #3A is annotated, "Everything in metric is smaller and costs more - PMK", and "Watch it, its metric". Some of the drawings are labelled in error, "Project No. 715". The structural drawings have been signed by S.M. Wolczyk, RPE, Carruthers & Wallace Ltd, Consulting Structural Engineers, Rexdale. The electrical plans were drawn by T.A. Harshaw, and the mechanical plans by L.M. Bennett both of D.E. McGregor and Associates Ltd, Scarborough. Scope Mechanical Contracting Ltd, Markham, provided a set of "as built" mechanical drawings.

Agendas

Subseries consists of agendas used by Graham and his staff to organize his schedule during his time as a member of Parliament.

Alteration to Right-of-Way

This sub-series includes 1 whiteprint survey drawing and is accompanied by an Agreement regarding a mutual right-of-way leading easterly from St. George Street, and is in agreement between the Governors of the University of Toronto and Trinity College, dated 1 August, 1962.

Alteration to Right-of-Way

This sub-series consists of 3 blueprint survey drawings showing the alterations made to the to the right-of-way running to the north of the athletic field, changing the flow and volume of traffic. Modifications are shown to Varsity Arena in the form of vehicle access at the south end of the arena.

Alterations to Kitchen Department

This sub-series consists of 13 items including pencil on tissue drawings showing floor plans and details of the alterations, as well as engineering drawings (whiteprints) for electrical and mechanical installations.

Arar Appearance

Subseries consists of files documenting Graham's preparation for testifying before the Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar, including transcripts and video recordings of his testimony, and the Commission's final report. The subseries also includes files documenting legal cases similar in nature to Mr. Arar's.

Athletic Field Upgrade

This sub-series consists of 4 printed drawings showing the changes made to Trinity's athletic field, north of the College buildings, and south of Varsity Stadium.

Binders

Subseries is several binders containing reference and briefing material Graham used during his time as Minister of National Defence. The contents of the binders have been moved into folders and the binders discarded. The binders were either compiled by, or in the possession of, Michelle Lobo, Graham's legislative assistant, as suggested by the "Binders (from Michelle)" label on the original box.

Carpentry details

This sub-series consists of a drawing showing carpentry details for a white oak notice board, including cross sections and an elevation.

Centre for Ethics, Larkin Building

18 items : 18 printed drawings. These drawings show possible locations for the construction for the Centre of Ethics. The presentation and concept drawings outline the redevelopment of the second floor of the Larkin Building to include the Centre as well as the possibility of including the Centre in the basement of Trinity College, as an alternative. A later design was built on the second floor of the Larkin Academic Building. All project drawings, including 'as built' drawings, are included.

Chapel Addition

This sub-series consists of 253 drawings outlining the design and construction of the Trinity College Chapel. Many full scale architectural details are included, as are original ink-on-linen architectural drawings. Plans for the Chapel Addition to Trinity College, Toronto by Sir Giles Scott & Son, Architects, London, England and Associate Architects George & Moorhouse, Toronto, Job No. 387, range in date from 1947 when the preliminary drawings were first made by Sir Giles Scott, to 1955 when the final stages of construction were completed by George & Moorhouse. Many drawings bear no date. The plans are found on several formats and materials. The drawings sent from England by Sir Giles Scott & Son are white�prints. The drawings done by Associate Architects George & Moorhouse, Toronto, are linen, tissue, with additional blueprints and photoprints. In many cases, only the blueprint copy has survived at this location. In order to assemble a complete set, in sequence, it has been necessary to include both original drawings and blueprint copies. Preliminary plans for the Proposed Chapel, Trinity College, have been annotated, "Anthonys", possibly W.E. Anthony. George & Moorhouse's stamp for Men's Residence & Dining Hall has been used for Dwg No. U of T 12-115.

Correspondence

Subseries consists of correspondence between Graham, his constituents, other politicians, and relevant parties sent during his first term as a member of Parliament. The subseries is organized according to a topical filing system maintained by Graham's office.

D.N.D.

Subseries consists primarily of personal and political correspondence to and from friends and colleagues during Graham's tenure as Minister of National Defence.

Dormitory Furniture

This sub-series consists of 4 whiteprint drawings. These prepared drawings show various furniture designs for residence room furnishings.

Files

Subseries consists of files documenting the topics that Graham dealt with as Leader of the Opposition, notably legislative briefing and subject material, speaking notes for Question Period, and party and caucus management issues.

Files

Subseries consists of files containing correspondence with notable individuals, briefing documents, and newspaper articles from Graham's time as Minister of National Defence. The files were presumably in the possession of Michelle Lobo, Graham's legislative assistant, as suggested by the "Files (from Michelle)" label on the original box.

Files (Miscellaneous)

Subseries consists of several files on subjects and issues Graham encountered while Minister of National Defence. The files are arranged alphabetically and primarily contain memoranda and briefing and policy documents.

Financial

Subseries consists of financial records, especially the budgets and expenses accrued by Graham and his parliamentary and constituency offices during his time as a cabinet minister.

Fire Alarm Systems, Trinity College

This sub-series contains 27 technical drawings outlining the installation of the fire protection system. These items bear the stamp, "Approved, F. Coakwell, Chief, Fire Department. This approval applies only to fire extinguishing equipment and fire alarm requirements when applicable". Drawings for St. Hilda's College are also included.

Floorplans, Trinity College

This sub-series consists of five drawings showing a proposed renovation to modify the original Trinity College buildings into a Home for Handicapped Veterans, Queen Street West, Toronto.

Foreign Affairs

Subseries consists primarily of personal and political correspondence to and from friends and colleagues during Graham's tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Incinerator

This sub-series consists of 2 items detailing the proposed design of an incinerator for Trinity College, to be constructed beneath Body House.

Invitation Regrets

Subseries consists of invitations, tracking dockets, and, often the regrets sent, for events and meetings Graham was invited to when he was Leader of the Official Opposition.

Subseries consists of files covering various issues, events, and undertakings which arose during Graham's tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Subseries consists of files about the various issues discussed and investigated by the committee during Graham's tenure. The contents generally include reports, expert and stakeholder testimony, related correspondence, and committee memoranda.

Subseries consists of subject files pertaining to issues and organizations Graham encountered or was involved with during his tenure as a member of Parliament.

Landscape Drawings

This sub-series consists of four items: 1 landscape plan and 1 planting plan illustrating the property of the University of Trinity College, Queen Street West, bounded by Crawford Street, Arthur Street, and Gore Vale Avenue. 1 film negative and 1 photoprint of the landscape plan are also included.

Landscape Plan, Philosophers' Walk

This sub-series consists of 4 whiteprint drawings. These drawing outline proposed changes to Philosopher's Walk, University of Toronto. Included is a large format undated topographic drawing showing plantings and other details. 2 pieces of correspondence are also included.

Leadership 2006

Subseries consists of records pertaining to the Liberal Party of Canada and its Leadership convention in November/December 2006.

Lecture Theatre [G.I.T.]

This sub-series consists of 182 items showing the design and construction of the Lecture theatre attached to the Larkin Academic Building, known as the George Ignatieff Theatre. The 5 electrical `as built' drawings by Crossey Langlois Firman are stamped "Received May 28 1979 CLF."

Lift to Strachan Hall

This sub-series consists of a suite of drawings documenting the construction of a lift from the main hall to the Strachan Hall level, and modifications to the Divinity Common Room.

Men's Residence and Dining Hall [Whitaker, Henderson, Strachan Hall]

This sub-series contains 237 items detailing the design, development, and construction of Strachan Hall, Henderson Tower, and Whitaker House. Pencil on tissue architectural detail drawings are included, as are 'as built' architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings.
