The first series, Textual Material, consists of scripts for various productions, as well as releasing and distribution agreements, contracts, rights and other administrative records.

The second series, Photographic Material, consists of one photograph from Talkabout.

Collection contains material relating to the lives and experiences of PVK Tripe and his wife, Elizabeth Rannie Tripe, during the Second World War. This includes logbooks, diaries, telegrams, letters and photographs from this period encompassing the experiences of both active service and the homefront. The collection notably contains PVK Tripe’s flying logs, which outline every hour he spent in the air between 1939 and 1945 and also includes squadron transfers, locations, missions and type of aircraft, as well as Elizabeth Tripe’s diaries from 1943 and 1944, with earlier selections from June 1941 and May 1942. Of particular note are telegrams received by Tripe after he was awarded the DFC, as well as letters written back to Canada by Elizabeth Tripe. Albums put together by Elizabeth Tripe, both prior to and during the war, outline her courtship with Tripe, their wedding and her life in Chester, as well as family members and friends. Loose photographs from throughout the war showcase Tripe in casual and professional shots, posing with squadron-mates, friends and airplanes at bases in England, Wales and Belgium. The collection also holds significant artefacts relating to PVK Tripe’s military career, of especial significance, includes pieces from his destroyed aircraft which were recovered by Karel Baetan and gifted to his daughter, Anne Tripe Crossman in 2013, his miniature dress medals, pins, cap badge and scarf, as well as pilots license and passports.

B1997-0024: These records document the activities of Brian Land as an undergraduate at the University of Toronto and as a librarian; as executive assistant (1963-1964) to Walter Gordon when, as Minister of Finance, he presented his first budget in the House of Commons in 1963; as a member of the executive of the Davenport-Dovercourt Liberal Association (Gordon’s constituency), and as advisor to and partial author of Gordon’s incomplete memoir, Pursuit of an ideal – Canadian independence. They also cover his involvement in the 1962 federal election (the subject of his MA thesis) that was published in 1965 as Eglinton: the election study of a federal constituency. B2008-0015: This accession documents Prof. Land’s professional activities with the Canadian Library Association, the Ontario Library Association and the Institute of Professional Librarians prior to his appointment as Director of the School of Library Science in 1964. This fonds is divided into 4 series: Textual Material, Audio Material, Video Material and Cinefilms.

The first series, textual materials, includes file folders containing canceled cheques and administrative paperwork, as well as 1,317 wrap binders detailing the process of creating the advertisements. These binders include story boards, correspondence, invoices, purchase orders, scripts, cast lists, payroll documents, contracts, call sheets, permits, shooting schedules and insurance information.

The second series, Audio Material, includes primary raw recordings, intermediate edits, and finished documents. Many of the cassette tapes, compact discs and digital audio tapes also contain recordings of conference calls which would usually involve the director, an executive from the ad agency and an executive from Radke.

The third series, Video Material, includes several iterations of the commercials and music spots made by the company (raw footage, editing stages, and finished productions), as well as showreels sent to Radke by companies seeking work for their directors (including Errol Morris and David Fincher).

The fourth series, Cinefilms, includes 16mm and 35mm camera negative.

This collection contains photographs and a typewritten manuscript recording Raymond MacDougal’s wartime experience while serving with the RCAF in Canada. This includes a written description of his war work including posted locations, individuals he worked with, and projects he was involved in. MacDougal’s annotated photographs are included in his typewritten manuscript, The War Years 1939-1945, as well as in a separate album. The album, which had the pages removed for conservation purposes, largely details photographs taken for both personal interest and as a part of his role in the photographic and motion picture section for the Clinical Investigation Unit in Halifax and Regina, and at the No. 1 Clinical Investigation Unit in Toronto, a top-secret medical facility, which MacDougal often describes as No. 1 I.T.S. These photographs notably include various experiments including centrifugal force, oxygen regulators and decompression chambers. MacDougal’s collection also contains photographs of Canadian WWII aircrafts on the runway and in flight, as well as extensive aerial photographs of Toronto, which were captured during the process of making educational films and testing photographic cameras in aircrafts. There are also several photographs from the Victory Aircraft factory in Malton, Ontario including celebrations in November 1944 for the 100th Canadian-built Lancaster aircraft. The collection also contains memorials of friends who died in action during the war. This collection also includes a typescript bound manuscript and photographs of MacDougal’s biking trip across Britain and Europe with his friend, William Dalton Smith, in 1936.

Includes correspondence and other print material related to Hungarian-American playwright and novelist Ferenc Molnar (1878-1952) and his legal wife, the actress Lili Darvas (1902-1974), with some letters addressed to Kati Rekai (1921-2010). Rekai’s aunt, Wanda Bartha, was Molnar’s private secretary, literary advisor and soul mate who died prematurely at the age of 38, and was also best friends with Darvas. Most material is in Hungarian. Molnar wrote Companion in Exile (1950) to honour the memory of his life with Wanda Bartha. Also includes a variety of material related to Kati Rekai, including a typescript account by Dr. John Rekai of the Rekai family’s experience emigrating to Canada in 1950, print items and some correspondence.

Fonds consists of published and unpublished material about the history of the Disciples in Canada, authored or gathered by Reuben Butchart in the course of his research and writing. The material includes some official records of organizations such as the Wellington and Ontario Co-operations of the Disciples of Christ, as well as the local Church of Christ in Guelph. Although there is a focus on Ontario churches and on the Hillcrest Church in Toronto, there is also extensive correspondence with local church historians in the Maritimes and Western Canada.

Personal records of Professor Ricardo Sternberg, documenting his career as a professor of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Toronto and his published work on subjects in Portuguese and Brazilian literature. The contents of the fonds primarily cover courses taught between the mid-1990s and 2014, and articles published in the 1980s to the early 2000s. The fonds provides a significant record of Portuguese literary themes, figures and works taught and written about by Ricardo Sternberg.

These records include course lecture notes, annotated Portuguese and Brazilian literary works, course packs, course syllabi and assignments, pamphlets for lectures given, and his published articles.

Scope and content: The fonds is arranged into two series, largely based on the creator’s original order.
Series One: Festival and Conference Programmes consists of Flohil’s collection of programmes for various folk music festivals across Canada, including the Mariposa Folk Festival, the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, and the Hillside Festival. This series also consists of music conference programmes from conferences such as the International Folk Alliance Conference and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference. A small number of music magazines and trade publications can be found in this series as well.
Series Two: Clippings, Ephemera and Photographs includes a small amount of materials related to Flohil’s music publicity career, including correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, trade publications, road atlases, and promotional 8 x 10 photographs of various musical artists represented by Flohil. It also includes candid photographs of Flohil, various musical artists, concerts, and music industry events.
