The collection consists of letters and documents concerning the van der Smissen family in Germany and Canada. The correspondence includes letters to Jacob Gysbert van der Smissen from Johann Lavator, a Reformed minister in Zurich, from Johann Heinrich Jung-Stilling, an eminent theological writer, and from Carl Heinrich von Bogatzky, an influential and prolific Lutheran writer in Germany. The remaining letters are primarily family correspondence, along with a family history, a travel journal, and the sermons of Wilhelm Leendert. It also includes W.H. van der Smisson's English translation, in the original metres, of Goethe's Faust.

This fonds consists of three series, divided primarily by subject matter and reflecting Clery’s working division of his files. The series are: ‘Monographs’, ‘Print Journalism’, and ‘CBC Radio and Television’.

The first series, ‘Monographs’, includes notes, clippings, book outlines, correspondence, book drafts, file cards, and promotional material related to various publishing projects undertaken by Clery.

The second series, ‘Print Journalism’, includes interviews, typescripts, offprints, correspondence, financials, and clippings related to Clery’s work on: Books in Canada, On The Town, the Royal Commission on Book Publishing, Seasons of Canada, Socialist Commentary, Yorker, Moses Znaimer, and Canadian Publishing generally.

The third series, ‘CBC Radio Television’, includes textual records related generally to Clery’s association with CBC and specifically to Clery’s work on As it Happens, An Act of God, Browndale, For All The Good Intentions, The Trains, Ballad of the Bicycle, and Metro Morning. Includes memos, program schedules, essays, program notes, marketing and promotional materials, clippings, contracts, interview transcripts, and CBC published manuals and ephemera.

The UTSC Photographic Services fonds covers the years of approximately 1964 and 1966 to 2008. The collection represents an invaluable visual history of the University of Toronto Scarborough campus and is made up almost entirely of photographic materials – negatives, contact sheets, slides, and prints.

Photographs in the collection from the 1970s to 1994 are attributed to David Harford and photographs from 1994 onward are attributed to Ken Jones. Photographs cover a broad range of subjects, such as the buildings and grounds of UTSC, campus events, faculty, staff, students, and much more.

Fonds consists of records documenting the personal, professional, and public life of Dr. Ursula Franklin, physicist, engineer, materials scientists, pacifist and feminist. Records document Dr. Franklin’s early life and career, later employment by the University of Toronto, awards and honorary degrees, teaching, research process and output, publishing activities, travel, service on national scientific boards, work with the CBC, peace work with the Quakers and Voice of Women, as well as other advocacy and activism.

A series of chronological files documents Dr. Franklin’s speeches, talks and attendance at a variety of academic and community events. Fonds also includes a significant amount of correspondence with colleagues, family, friends, fellow activists and ordinary citizens, as well as electronic copies of more than 575 pages of surveillance of Dr. Franklin by the RCMP. One series also documents a wide range of matters at the University of Toronto relating to Massey College, Museum Studies, the SLOWPOKE Reactor, and other matters. Yet another series documents Dr. Franklin’s involvement with the Ursula Franklin Academy.

Records include day planners, notebooks, correspondence, publications, news clippings, reports, drafts, research data and notes, background material, photographs, sound and moving image recordings and some copies of government documents and records.

Fonds consists of records related to the founding of Upper Canada Academy, which later became Victoria College. Records includes the Royal Charter, constitutions, financial records, register of students and notebooks of Reverend John Beatty and Matthew Richey. Also included are one series of minutes: Minutes of the Upper Canada Academy Building Committee, 1831-1836; Minutes of the Upper Canada Academy and Victoria College Managing Committee, 1836-1843; and minutes of the Victoria College Financial Committee, 1843-1849.

B2000-0028: The records document the Women's Auxiliary of the University Settlement. The Women's Auxiliary was established in 1920, ten years after the creation of the University Settlement. The records in this accession consists of histories of the Women's auxiliary, its constitution, lists of members, correspondence and minutes from their committee meetings. Files also document the University Settlement Board meetings, the Camp Boulderwood initiative, and literature distributed by the University Settlement itself. Also includes a photograph of Marilyn MacDonald, president of the Women's Auxiliary University Settlement accepting the Annual Commnunity Leadership Award on behald of the auxiliary.

B2001-0010: The records document the Women's Auxiliary of the University Settlement. They consist of: copies of its constitutions; reports of officers and committees including President (1939-54), Secretary (1932-1950), Treasurer (1931-1983) House and Buying Committee (1933-1969), Public Relations (1945-74), Tea Conveanor (1963-1986) and Fashion Show (1980-1886); original minute books from 1920-1983; misc. correspondence (1940-1987); membership and supporters lists; one file relating to the writing of the history of the Women's Auxiliary. Also included are University Settlement Board of Directors minutes and reports, 1976-1984 as well as some miscellaneous publications, 1980-1986. Also includes 3 photographs and 33 negatives documenting a fashion show sponsored by the Women's Auxiliary of the University Settlement.
