B2006-0030: Personal records of Edward Safarian, Professor of Economics at the University of Toronto consisting of personal correspondence, including files on the Table Ronde d'Economistes France-Canada (7th : 1991 : Paris) and the granting of an honorary degree by the University of Toronto to Arthur E. Child (1994); research files, including interviews, for Safarian's writings on foreign ownership and multinational enterprise; and files on his professional association woth the Canadian-American Committee, including notes on its confidential meetings (1972-1992), and on confidential meetings of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (1991-1997), espeically its Economic Growth and Policy Program. The files for the last include confidential minutes, notes on discussions and correspondence with offiers of the CIAR and the directors and members of the Growth program, presentations by Safarian to the CIAR and addresses to outside bodies on behalf of the CIAR (8 boxes, 1956-2004).

Fonds consists of the personal records of Alan Rodney Bobiwash, documenting his career as a university instructor, aboriginal and anti-racist activist, consultant, and representative for global indigenous rights. Series 1, the most extensive series, consists of an A-Z subject files that document Bobiwash’s aboriginal and anti-racist activism, and provides the best overview of professional activities during the 1980s and 1990s. Series 5 is a chronological collection of records related to the conferences and seminars Bobiwash attend in various professional capacities from the late 1980s to the early 2000s. The fonds also contains personal correspondence and records that document Bobiwash’s education, personal relationships, and activities, as well as Curriculum Vitae and obituaries. Included in the personal records are notebooks, journals and prayer books which document Bobiwash’s day-to-day personal life, his travels, spirituality, and the progression of his professional career from a private point of view. Other series document Bobiwash’s personal and professional writing, and the Metis bibliography he created. Finally, series 10 contains both personal and professional photographs, the majority of which are related to Bobiwash’s professional activities in the 1990s, and early 2000s.

The fonds consists of Albert E. Coleman’s records pertaining to his activities as a writer. It includes (annotated) copies of his stories.

The fonds serves as a representative sample of the activities carried out, and the relationships engendered, during A.F.W. Plumptre's tenure as principal of Scarborough College from 1965 to 1972. Both official papers and personal documents are included. Official documents include: reports, correspondence, transcripts of speeches, and seating plans. Personal documents include: invitations, cards, photograph albums, clippings, publications, books, and artifacts.

The collection consists of letters, some holograph, from Canadian poets and critics, including Earle Birney, Douglas Bush, E.K.Brown, Morley Callaghan, D.C. Scott, and many others. It also includes drafts and research for lectures and articles, and drafts and correspondence regarding Smith's published works.

Fonds consists of the professional and personal records of Prof. A.P. Thornton, historian and former Chair of the UofT’s Department of History. Records document some of his publishing activity, academic work presenting and teaching, as well as aspects of his personal life including creative writing and family history. While Prof. Thornton’s administrative role at the University is not significantly reflected in the records, the material contains documentation of the professor’s work with the Presidential Advisory Board in the mid-1980’s related to divestment in South Africa. Other records include family photographs, correspondence, and genealogical research.

Fonds demonstrates Lynch’s professional output over the course of four decades. The body of records primarily represents her written work, while there are also audio-visual recordings of lectures and presentations. Items include: published articles, typed and hand-written speeches and lectures, professional reports, newspaper articles about Lynch, recordings of lectures and presentations, recordings of television and radio appearances.

Contains printed material related to the National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC) task force of First Nations Canadians, including meeting announcements and agendas; a small amount of material related to the Earth Spirit Festival held in Toronto in 1991; plus related correspondence. Also includes biographical and genealogical booklets on the Kabayama family, with photographs.

The fonds contains the material collected by Adam Chapnick during his research for his biography of John Wendell Holmes, Canada’s Voice: The Public Life of John Wendell Holmes, published by University of British Columbia Press in 2009. It includes his research in the Holmes fonds at Trinity College and Holmes’ letters to his family (Nancy Skinner Papers now incorporated into Holmes fonds), transcriptions of interviews and correspondence with various individuals, copies of some of Holmes’ writings, photographs, and correspondence relating to the publication of the book. Most of the research for his biography of John Holmes was undertaken between 2005 and early 2007.

The collection includes original paintings of Canadian flora and mushrooms by Chamberlin, and subscription books for her book Canadian Wild Flowers (1868 and 1869 editions). Most of the paintings have not been reproduced. It also contains original paintings and photographs of Canadian flora and other subjects by Chamberlin's daughter, Geraldine Moodie, an album of pressed plants by Moodie, and an album of pressed ferns by Catherine Parr Trail.

Memorabilia relating to the Extraordinary Honours Award given to Marie Parkes in 1958-59 for her work on the Students' Administrative Council and on the Women's Athletic Association including photographs of award recipients. Also included: early essay by Parkes on Women's Athletics at the University of Toronto; photographs of the SAC Executive from 1956-1959; one photo of Parkes at T-Holders Luncheon.

Four digital files of typed extracts from the personal diary Professor Latta began keeping in Dec. 1965, relating to the Department of German at Trinity College, the Combined Departments of German, and, as of July 1, 1975, the university German Department. No. 1 contains entries dating from November 1966 to December 1988; No. 2 runs from January 1989 to December 1995; No. 3 covers from January 1996 through December 1998; and No. 4 is January 1999 to December 2005.

Fonds consists of a scrapbook of Alan Dignan (Victoria Class of 1931) containing clippings, correspondence, notices, programmes and other ephemera concerning student activities at Victoria University, 1927–1931.

Much of the early correspondence consists of letters Jarvis wrote home to his family while he was at Oxford (1938-39) and while he was working in Britain (1942-55).

The records consist of correspondence (various), correspondence re Jewish-Christian issues, letters to the editor, published articles, book reviews, addresses/lectures, sermons, announcements of addresses/lectures, reviews of books authored by Dr. Davies and related correspondence. Also includes a copy of his curriculum vitae.

Fonds consists of research notes, draft articles, published articles, reports, budgets and correspondence created and accumulated by Alan Thomas in the course of his activities as a student, scholar and professor of adult education and an advocate for adult education. He was a contributing editor to foundational textbooks on adult education, including “Learning for Life,” and has held executive and board positions with the Canadian Association for Adult Education and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO. Dr. Thomas is perhaps best known for his role in developing Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) in the community college system – whereby individuals can have life experience and non-institutional learning acknowledged and accredited within formal educational settings.

Fonds consists of records of students registered, examinations, student marks, orders of proceedings, 1857–1884; financial records, 1861–1891. Some records were kept by Albert Carman in his capacity as Professor and later Principal.

Collection includes correspondence, photographs and manuscript material related to the life and work of poet Albert Collignon, including his Martha's Clinic Letters series.

Three student notebooks compiled by A.E. Johnson, an occasional student registered in the Faculty of Arts between 1933 and 1935. Notebooks are for classes relating to Optometry, i.e. Physics (1933-1934) and Optics (1934-1935)

The papers contain his diaries with field notes, scrapbooks, photographs, correspondence, drafts of articles, notes, minutes of meetings for organizations of which he was an officer, and printed materials including newspaper clippings of columns written by other naturalists but collected by Allin. Included in the correspondence are letters from J. L. Baillie whose papers are also in the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library.

The A.F. Moritz fonds contains records relating to his education, teaching, translation and editing work, journalism and other employment, and, predominantly, his work as a poet.

The files contain a covering letter to the accession; correspondence between Coleman and Infeld in 1950, with covering letter of explanation, 1985; reviews of Infeld's book, 'Why I left Canada', 1978-1979; the programme for the Infeld Centennial meeting in Warsaw, June 22-23, 1998, which Coleman attended; and correspondence with Howard Stern of the Ottawa Citizen, who wrote articles (included) for the paper on Infeld in 1998 and 1999, with earlier letters and press clippings (1968-1999).

Dr. Stanbury attended Dr. Rolfe's medical school (Faculty of Medicine, Victoria College).

Consists of correspondence, minutes, course and lecture notes, examinations, law notes, court cases, reports, manuscripts, articles, and other material documenting the career of Albert Abel as a professor of law at the University of West Virginia and (from 1955) at University of Toronto, and as a specialist in constitutional law and and on environmental issues such as pollution. Representative of his activities are files on examinations (both universities) and, at the University of Toronto, the Law Journal and committees in the Faculty of Law, the Commission on University Government, several Senate committees, the Caput, and the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Institute of Business Administration. He was also active in other bodies such as the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, the Association of Canadian Law Teachers, and, in 1942, as a consultant to the Office of Price Administration in Washington, DC.

The Alberto Manguel Papers consist of material related to the literary output of the noted author, anthologist and translator. It's a comprehensive collection of Manguel's literary output since the 1960s up to the present day. It includes manuscript drafts, revisions, galleys, illustrations, publisher’s correspondence, personal correspondence, photographs, printed appearances and other material.

Fonds consists of the administrative, financial, and performance records of the Aldeburgh Connection. Most of the fonds consists of materials created for, and as a result of, each concert produced by the Aldeburgh Connection, including promotional materials, scripts, annotated scores, correspondence, research notes, and reviews. The fonds also contains textual materials from the production of the Aldeburgh Connection’s recording projects, promotional events, board minutes, complete financial records, and correspondence regarding their fundraising efforts.
