Eucharist file

File consists of copies of three different sections of books regarding “saint sacrament” and the Eucharist.

Holy feasts - Pentecost 1990

File consists of material related to the celebration of the Pentecost Holy feasts at L'Arche Daybreak. This includes a booklet "Come, Holy Spirit, Come: Waiting together for the Holy Spirit - Daybreak, May 27-June 3, 1990" with hymns, and a schedule for Pentecost.

Icon reproductions file

File consists of graphic material such as photographs, colour slides, negatives and proof sheets related to icons. File also contains an article on one of the icons and several postcards depicting icons. Some of the icons photographed in this series appear in Nouwen's book "Behold the beauty of the Lord: Praying with icons" and it is possible that these photographs were used in the book. The icons include: "The savior of Zvenigorod", "The virgin of Vladimir", "The Holy Trinity", and the icon that Nouwen used for his 25th anniversary ordination card. The file also contains two photographs, Item P2939 of an unidentified icon and Item P2940 a photograph of a cheery blossom tree in full bloom.

Icons from France file

File consists of several stamps and postcards of icons such as Saint Sharbel, The Holy Trinity and The virgin of Vladimir. File also contains a photograph of a painting of Saint Sharbel (Item P2921) and a photograph of an icon of Mary and Jesus, possibly by Peter BTSR Korsuiskia (Item P2922).

Islam

File consists of a pamphlet entitled "Islam" by Dr. Liyakatali Takim, Director of Religion, Ja'ffari Islamic Centre (Toronto, Canada). The pamphlet is particularly focused on Islam and Muslims in Canada, and its intent is to teach Canadians about Islam, and encourage inter-faith dialogue.

Joe Lobko Architect Inc.

File consists of correspondence with Joe Lobko, of Joe Lobko Architect Inc., regarding the Dayspring addition in 1996; note from [Chris?] to Kathy Christie asking Nouwen to call John King as soon as possible, as he sounds as though he is closer to death; and a memorandum titled "Information for the Community RE worship services while he is away" with schedule.

L'Arche in North America

File consists of an agenda for a meeting of L'Arche in North America with some handwritten notes by Nouwen and a copy of "Mission/Identity of L'Arche in North America Today (Process Proposal for the Zone Councils)".

Letchworth park file

File consists of information about Letchworth State Park, items include a map, a booklet called Historical Highlights – Letchworth State Park and a handwritten note, not in Nouwen's hand, with a meeting time and place within the park.

Letter to Daybreak Council from Nouwen

File consists of a copy of a letter to the Daybreak Council from Nouwen (dated January 20, 1989) with a proposal to spend a few months in Europe writing. He says he has been stimulated by the Daybreak community, and he is "filled with ideas and insights that want to be expressed in a literary form. Especially the Parable of the Prodigal Son and the portrayal of that parable by Rembrandt have increasingly emerged as a way to give expression to many of the things I have lived here." He says he collected material on the parable while in Winnipeg [1988], but has been unable to really sit down and write. He would like permission to go to Europe for April and May of 1989 to write, visit with Jean Vanier, and see Cardinal Simonis. He also suggests that a long-term plan be made regarding his writing.

File consists of material regarding Nouwen's expense and income summaries for 1994. Includes correspondence from Margaret Sutton, copies of ledger pages with expenses listed by category and by month, and a summary the year's expenses. Also includes a summary of Nouwen's income including royalties listed by publisher and month, honorarium, and miscellaneous income.

Correspondence with Joe Sarno

File consists of material sent with the two boxes sent by Joe Sarno to Nouwen's office in Richmond Hill in 1996. Includes a letter explaining what was included in the two boxes. Also includes correspondence and forms regarding Nouwen co-signing for a loan for Theodore and Debra Brackman.

File consists of older material regarding Nouwen's Cambridge Trust retirement account. Includes correspondence, statements, forms, and informational pamphlets.
