Services

Series D, Services, covers the years 1949 and 1952 through 2009. The university provides many services for faculty, staff, and students. The series is has been arranged base on the department providing services (i.e. the library); some smaller service providers are grouped together based on a common target audience (i.e. faculty and staff organizations). The series is divided into ten subseries.

Student Organizations

The subseries D.7 Student Organizations covers the years 1964 through 2009. Student organizations are considered to be services offered to students by other students, such as student newspapers. The subseries includes material from arts groups (drama, music, theatre), the Association of Part-Time Undergraduate Students (APUS), the Arts and Sciences Student Union (ASSU), the Scarborough College Student Council (SCSC) / Union (SCSU), the Students’ Administrative Council (SAC), the Scarborough College International Students’ Association, the Chinese Student Association. Also included are issues of the following student publications: Marooned, Dialectic, Apocalypse, SMU*T, Mindfield, Absolute Graffiti, The Underground, Mimesis, Balcony Square, Scarborough Fair, and others.

The archives contain a range of documentation relating to the foundation, history, and activities of the University of Toronto Scarborough. Exhibits and programs

Series contains documentation about exhibits and programs curated by Spiller, including correspondence, photographs, press clippings, notes, invitations, guest books, and printed material.

Food writing

Series contains drafts, notes, and scrapbooks on Spiller's writings about food, including his articles for the magazine Flavor & Fortune.

Sandford Borins fonds

The fonds covers Dr. Borins’ research on film, history, biography, and other topics relating to business, information technology, automobile manufacturing, and financial trading. Types of documents include Dr. Borins’ notes and summaries, drafts of writings, articles, and course notes.

The aforementioned research resulted in the publication of Dr. Borin’s book titled Negotiating Business Narratives: Fables of the Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Financial Trading Industries published by Palgrave Pivot in 2018.
