Primarily subject files and correspondence of Moffat St. Andrew Woodside and John H. Sword. Woodside's files include those from the offices of Vice-president (Academic) (1963-1965) and Provost (1965-1968), while Sword's files include those from the offices of Executive Assistant to the President (1960-1965), Vice-provost (1965-1967) and Executive Vice-president (Academic) and provost (1968-1971). Included are numerous files relating to president's committees and presidential advisory committees, including the history and philosophy of science. Also includes: files from the Office of the President dealing with the Committee of Presidents of Universities of Ontario (1964-1967), a small amount of material from the office of D.F. Forster, the Vice-provost and Executive Assistant to the [Acting] President, John H. Sword (1967-1968). One photoprint.

This accession contains organizational records of the Options Conference mainly with respect to delegates originating from Prof. Saywell, then principal of Innis College and responsible for organizing the Conference. Included are records relating to delegates such as lists, correspondence, requests for papers, background papers as well as general correpondence, reports, programmes, memos and invitations.

Canadian General Hospital No. 4 (University of Toronto)

Contains correspondence among Charles Kirk Clarke, William Belfry Hendry, James Alexander Roberts and others concerning the hospital unit, together with memoranda on the unit's history and personnel; war diary, in three volumes, recording daily activities of the hospital in Salonika; albums of photographs of the unit's activities in England, in Salonika, and en route to those places.

Consists of financial records, correspondence, projects and programme supported by the Varsity Fund (1964-1979); other files (1970-1979) deals with the Office of the Vice-President and Registrar, the Office of the Special Assistant to the President Institutional Relations, and visits by foreign academics, dignitaries and conference on the U of T campus, as well as statistical reports.

Hart House

The "Book of Hart House" (the Massey Family scrapbook) documents the building, opening and early activities of Hart House. Included are photographs showing its construction, interior and exterior architecture as well as images of sports and recreational activities. There is one photograph of the Hart House site in the 1870s. Clippings, correspondence, photographs and other memorabilia document the cornerstone laying ceremonies and its opening. The scrapbook also contains artwork and related correspondence of the calligraphy and crest designs by A. Scott Carter for the Great Hall.
Several copy prints of the photographs have been made including the image of the Hart House site in the 1870s.

Records of the Department of Engineering Drawing, consisting of instructions and problems sets for 1st to 4th year courses in engineering problems and drawing (1936-1965); problems in mathematics for 1st and 2nd year students (1944-1963); course notes in mathematics taken by Professor William James Turnbull Wright from Professor Samuel Beatty during the summer of 1933 and the academic years 1934-1936; lantern slides, most of which belonged to Professors Roy Cockburn and C. H. C. Wright (1912-1946). Also included are records of the Department of Civil Engineering, consisting of a report on hydro-electric power on the Bow River by John Bow Challis (191-) and undergraduate project reports (1970) on the problems of parking on the University of Toronto campus.
