Correspondence, minutes, notes, reports, articles, press clippings, publications and photoprints documenting Kay Riddell's involvement with foreign students at the University of Toronto, in particular with reference to Friendly Relations with Overseas Students and its successor, the International Student Centre.

This fonds consists of correspondence (professional and personal), personal papers, financial documents, and materials related to Professor Dewart’s writing process such as manuscripts, reviews, copies of published works, research notes, and reference files. The fonds also consists of material relating to Dewart’s time as a professor at the University of Toronto, including faculty material, course material and material relating to the the three grievances that he was involved in.
The series and their scope are:
• The Grievance of Professor Richardson: Material related to the dismissal of Professor Herbert Richardson from USMC and Dewart’s involvement in the case as his agent. Includes correspondence, legal documents compiled for research and to be used in the hearing, copies of Richardson’s case file and personnel file, and meeting minutes. Access to series is restricted.
• Faculty Material: Materials related to Dewart’s involvement with the Faculty of Theology, the Graduate Centre for Religious Studies, and the Institute of Christian Thought. This includes materials related to the PhD committees that he served on, the committees that he was involved in, the conference for the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Association, and the Vatican’s investigation of his book, The Future of Belief.
• Course Material: Material related to the courses Dewart taught. Files for specific courses may include lecture notes, syllabi, reading lists, copies of course readings, class lists, course evaluations, and final examination booklets.
• Manuscripts: Includes edited and unedited drafts, master copies, and publisher’s master sets of book chapters, entire books, articles, and academic papers.
• Research Notes: Includes early drafts, outlines, maps, audio reels and notes compiled by Dewart during the writing process of his books and articles.
• Personal Papers: Material related to Dewart’s personal life. This includes pocketbooks, childhood materials, photographs, pilot’s flying log books from WWII, and some correspondence.
• Reviews and Published Works: Includes copies of academic papers, essays, articles, reviews, lectures, and chapters that Dewart published or delivered at conferences as well as reviews published about Dewart’s books.
• Group Grievance of 1994: Materials related to legal proceedings of professors O'Connell, Bilanuik, McSorley, and Dewart in filing a group grievance against the University of Toronto concerning the tenure of professors in the Faculties of Divinity and Theology. This includes correspondence, a report of the Grievance Review Panel, and legal documents used in the panel.
• Financial Documents: Materials related to the sale of Dewart’s books, including publication agreements and royalty statements from his publishers, as well as materials relating to his personal banking, including trust company documents, checkbooks, saving account pass books, and banking statements.
• Emeritus Grievance of 1995: Materials related to a grievance that Dewart filed against the University of Toronto concerning the status and rights of professors emeriti. This includes correspondence, copies of university memorandums and policies that Dewart consulted, copies of archival materials, and the legal documents used in the Grievance Review Panel.
• Correspondence: Materials related to the professional and personal correspondence that Dewart collected throughout his life in the form of typewritten letters, written letters, postcards, printed emails, and greeting cards. This includes recommendation letters that Dewart wrote on behalf of colleagues and students, internal correspondence and memos related to the University of Toronto, and personal letters from family in Cuba.
• Reference Files: Includes card catalogs comprising the bibliographic information of articles, books, and editorials that Dewart consulted for research purposes.

This accession of Dayv James-French’s papers includes many drafts of his writing including short stories, poetry, and novels, including drafts for Victims of Gravity (1990) and other unpublished work; professional and personal correspondence with authors and publishers; submissions; book reviews; personal journals and other material related to his life and work.

Fonds documents Prof. Schabas' forty year career as teacher, administrator, and consultant with the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto, and his numerous external activities as consultant, juror, examiner, and as member in various professional and government organizations devoted to the promotion of the education and professional development of musicians in Canada and abroad.

The arrangement of this accession reflects Prof. Schabas' long association with the Royal Conservatory of Music and is divided into two Sous Fonds:

A later accession (B2008-0031, now described as Series 10 within Sous-fonds 2) is an accrual to the Ezra Schabas fonds. It consists of an alphabetical file series that documents most facets of Prof. Ezra Schabas’ career. While there are a few early records, most files document his activities after his retirement from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, including: involvement in associations and music groups, publishing and research endeavours including his book Sir Ernest MacMillan: The Importance of Being Canadian; evaluation reports of music programs throughout Canada; performances and public appearances; travels; workshops and talks. The files contain a variety of documents including correspondence, minutes, agenda, papers, talks, reviews, evaluation reports, scripts, grant applications and memorabilia. 1953-2007 (predominant 1985-2002)

Correspondence of Henry J. Sissons while Secretary of Hart House to J. Burgon Bickersteth, Warden of Hart House, and who was stationed overseas during WWII. Includes one letter from J.B. Bickersteth dated July 10, 1941.

Personal records documenting the life and career of Stephen K. Sim, first Chinese professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. Includes his early life, education, and his four years teaching at the University of British Columbia before coming to Toronto. The records contain correspondence, memorabilia, course notes for his studies at the Universities of Hong Kong and Washington, administrative files (University of Toronto) and teaching files (Universities of British Columbia and Toronto), a few files on professional organizations, research files, manuscripts and publications, addresses, three CDs of interviews on his experiences during World War II, and photographs.

B1994-0034: Correspondence, minutes, notes, memoranda, reports and press clippings, financial statements and annual reports documenting Professor Slemon's role as a founder of the University of Toronto Innovations Foundation and as a member of its Board during its first decade of existence. B2006-0028: Records document Prof. Slemon's role on various University of Toronto committees and his involvement in University events including: installation and ongoing correspondence regarding the Murray Sculpture of Becca's H; his trip to China with President Ham; a CIDA project in Xian China; the task force to look into the future of the Slowpoke Reactor; and the Innovations Foundation. (2 boxes, 1972-1997).

This accession was acquired by UTARMS in October 1991 from Prof. Edward L. Shorter. Arranged in four series, the accession consists primarily of correspondence bracketing the years 1966-1988. Series 1 is made up of three files devoted to Shorter's curriculum vitae, University of Toronto appointments and research grants and proposals. Series 2, the major portion of the accession, consists of professional and private correspondence. Series 3 is comprised of a single annotated book edited by Shorter. Series 4 is five strips of photo negatives of Edward L. Shorter dating from about the mid-1970's.

This collection contains the notebooks, school work, and school records of Vernon G. Turner documenting his education at North Toronto Collegiate Institute (high school) and Maurice Cody Public School (elementary school) during the late 1930s and 1940s.

Fonds consists primarily of records related to the continuing education programming offered by Emmanuel College. Included are workshop and course descriptions, calendars and agreements as well as program evaluations and planning documents. Fonds also includes the records of the Emmanuel College Continuing Education Committee which is responsible for the overall planning of the programming offered. Personal records of Mary Mamie O'Brien (1926-1998), philosopher and feminist scholar, Professor Emerita in the Department of Sociology in Education at OISE. Includes files on: her education; professional correspondence; extensive drafts and manuscripts of her research, writings, and addresses; artistic works (poetry, short stories and a play); and photographs of Mary O'Brien with colleagues and friends.

This fonds is a very complete documentation of all aspects of Prof. Stoicheff career. His relationship with colleagues at the University, nationally and internationally is evident throughout but especially in the Series 1 Correspondence, Series 8 Professional Association and Activities, and Series 9 University of Toronto. Series 1 Correspondence also documents his mentoring role and his role as a referee and evaluator of peer and student work. This is also documented in Series 11 Teaching, Series 12 Correspondence with Students and Series 8 Professional Associations and Activities. His research activities are extensively documented not only in Series 6 Research but in Series 10 Ontario Laser and Lightwave Research Centre and in Series 3 Publications. Fonds consists of diaries, 1885-1944, which reveal the activities and concerns of the Victoria University Library; correspondence, 1881-1941; 15 photographs; a handwritten copy of "The Old Ontario Strand", 1910 (copied by Annie Barker); and Annie Barker's will, 1951.

Fonds consists of material documenting the careers of both Prof. Frederick Winter and Joan Winter, particularly related to their archaeological research. Material in the fonds represents both of their individual work and education, as well as research conducted and presentations given together. The records of Prof. Frederick Winter’s cover his publishing activity, research across Europe, particularly within Greece, teaching, and some aspects of his doctoral work.

Joan Winter’s records make up a larger portion of the fonds’ material with considerable documentation of her undergraduate education at the University of Alberta as well as her time at the University of Toronto. Records also include Joan Winter’s teaching material as well as the tutorials she led for some of Prof. Winter’s courses.

The Winters’ joint research is documented through travel diaries, articles, research, and presentation notes. Some of the presentations are accompanied by photographs and the fonds includes additional graphic material related to their research.

Fonds consists of the professional and personal records of Prof. A.P. Thornton, historian and former Chair of the UofT’s Department of History. Records document some of his publishing activity, academic work presenting and teaching, as well as aspects of his personal life including creative writing and family history. While Prof. Thornton’s administrative role at the University is not significantly reflected in the records, the material contains documentation of the professor’s work with the Presidential Advisory Board in the mid-1980’s related to divestment in South Africa. Other records include family photographs, correspondence, and genealogical research.

Fonds consists of records documenting the professional career of Dr. Barry Sessle. Material covers Dr. Sessle’s extensive research and publishing activity, reflecting the international network of colleagues with whom he works. Material includes correspondence, grant applications, and publication drafts. Records also document his administrative responsibilities at the UofT through multiple committees within the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Medicine, as well as his consultative work outside of the University. Records include minutes, memoranda, reports and correspondence. Finally, Dr. Sessle’s teaching activities are documented through lecture and presentation notes.

Personal records of University of Toronto Ceremonials Assistant, Kay Takenaka. The records mostly document Ms. Takenaka's being granted the Chancellor's Award, 1985. Records include congratulatory letters and photographs of the awards ceremony. The fonds consists of administrative, organizational, summary and financial records relating to the Faith and Sharing Federation. The records range in date from 1968 to 2012. The fonds is composed of eight series:

Collection consists of hand-written and typed manuscripts, correspondence, poems, translations and radio transcripts created by Monsignor John O'Connor. The records were purchases and accumulated by Father Kevin Scannell as part of his G.K. Chesterton research.

Throughout are photocopied documents, collected by Sanders, as contexual material about the era and referenced events or articles within the correspondence. Also included are original letters sent to Sanders from the friends and relatives of those whose letters appear in the 19th century correspondence.

Fonds consists of correspondence, manuscripts and transcripts of archival material and accumulated by Fred T. Flahiff, professor of English at the University of St. Michael's College. Includes research materials and manuscripts related to Flahiff's biography of author Sheila Watson, "Always Someone to Kill the Doves: A Life of Sheila Watson", and his role as executor of her estate and custodian of her personal papers.
