The journal contains 132 pages of hand written reflections on his health and wife Sheila Watson's hospitalization after a fall, descriptions of visits from friends and other writers, letters he received, ideas for stories, and current events.

File consists of correspondence from Adele Wiseman, inviting Watson to be included in the Canadian Women Writers Calendar for 1986.

File consists of a letter from Fred Candelaria, editor of West Coast Review a quarterly magazine of the arts soliciting a short work of fiction from Watson.

File consists of a two page list of publishers, presumably those firms to which Watson submitted "The Double Hook" for publishing.

File consists of 20 filing cards by Sheila Watson recording her submission and writing campaign to various periodicals and publishers for her husband Wilfred's poetry.
