Fonds consists of the records of Larry Davies, the Director of the External Relations and Development Department, primarily outgoing correspondence as well as records documenting the relationship between the Department, alumni, and alumni groups such as the Alumni of Victoria College (AVC) and the Emmanuel College Alumni/ae Association. Records also document fundraising and development activities as well as the planning and hosting of events such as reunions and milestone celebrations.

Fonds contains lists of Permanent Class Executives of Victoria College, guest book and transcripts of addresses given at the Memorial Service held for Victoria University President A.B.B. Moore, promotional material, questionnaires, notes, lists, correspondence, research material, reports, financial records and annual reports.

  • B1977-0029: Newspaper clippings, articles, pamphlets about the Canadian Officers Training Corps (COTC); personal correspondence, early education diplomas; World War I service papers as Lt-Col in Canadian Army. Also includes photoprints of Queen's Own Rifles at Aldershot, England, 1910; Canadian Officers' Training Corp officers at Niagara Camp, 1915 and 1940; medal presentations and formal dinners; steeple chases; series of photos dealing with the 'Polish Army in Canada' during World War I.

  • B1979-0046: Correspondence, scrapbook of newspaper clippings, publications relating to Prof. Madill's career at the School of Architecture from his appointment in 1934; records about the firm of Craig & Madill, Architects. Also includes file of notes, correspondence, and report to the Civic Advisory Council, City of Toronto, regarding the use of City Hall as a Court House building (1950-1952).

There are also conference files, relating in particular to the Canadian Cartographic Association, the International Cartographic Association, and the Conference on Editorial Problems 1993 conference in Toronto, ‘Editing Early and Historical Atlases’. There are also exhibition files associated with this conference and with ‘Mapping Toronto’s first century’, a 1984 exhibition mounted as part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of the City of Toronto.

The fonds also contains postmortem documents, including condolence correspondence to his wife, Leona Bell, and documents relating to the Leslie Bell Singers reunions and the Leslie Bell Scholarship.

Records assembled by David Grenville relating to two projects on Omond McKillop Solandt: a proposed biography of him (never completed) and a symposium in his honour (1994) that was published as Perspectives in science and technology: the legacy of Omond Solandt. The files for the biography include original documents, research notes, correspondence, notes, manuscripts and addresses by Solandt (1957-1980) and 66 audio cassette tapes (with tape summaries by Jason Ridler) of interviews Grenville did with Solandt and his colleagues. The files on the symposium contain correspondence, minutes of meetings, notes, financial records, and partial drafts and copies of the book. There are also a number of accompanying photographs.

The collection includes photographs of various Canadian and European musicians, including various photographs of Canadian Opera Company productions from the late 1980s and early 1990s, autographs from various opera singers and musicians from the late-nineteenth century, three scrapbooks with newspaper clippings and programs, and a collection of songs published in the Toronto Evening Telegram at the end of the nineteenth century.
