Fonds also includes incoming and outgoing correspondence from 1975-1983; documents relating to the incorporation of the Catholic New Times in 1976 and subsequent changes in directors; materials documenting the mission and structure of the corporation and processes and procedures for producing the newspaper; subject files containing clippings and reports from organizations of interest to Catholic New Times members and staff; audio-visual materials created by and for the Catholic New Times; and an incomplete run of print editions. The majority of the records are textual however, as indicated, the fonds includes almost 200 recordings of retreats, including many talks by founder Jean Vanier.

Personal records of Henry (Harry) Pullan, graduate in architecture in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (BASc 1911). The majority of records document reunions of the Class of 1911 (1930-1965 including minutes (1930-1960),correspondence of the Secretary-Treasurer, lists of class alumni, casualty lists of deceased class members, drafts of submissions to the newsletter "Ruminations" , and correspondence with the Engineering Alumni Association.

Photographs and negatives document 2nd year class of 1911, including several images of the Trienial Class reunions from 1957-1963. There is also a unique group photograph of the 2nd year class of 1911 taken in the drafting room. This was reproduced in Ruminations and includes a name key.

Certificates, annotated publications, and a photograph relating to three generations of members of the McKeown family. University of Toronto students include Patrick Walter Hughes McKeown, BA 1887 (University College), MD CM (Trinity Medical College), 1889, and Walter Woods ('Woody') McKeown, Arts (University College), 1911-12, who served in World War I and then attended Osgoode Hall. Other family members represented include Patrick McKeown, Winnie McKeown and Margaret Woods.

Fonds consists of six accessions of records documenting the life of Martin L. Friedland, as a student, professor of law and administrator at the University of Toronto; as an expert on legal matters and a contributor to the formation of public policy at the provincial and federal levels; and as an author of several books and numerous articles, in particular the researching and writing of his book University of Toronto: A History (University of Toronto Press, 2002 & 2013).

The collection consists of a disassembled scrapbook of insurance underwriters' reports and records, fire reports, original news clippings and photographs, and other miscellaneous material on various North American conflagrations between 1904 and 1918. Of particular local interest are the pages (five in total) devoted to the Toronto fire of 1904. Among the other major North American fires represented in the scrapbook include those in the cities of Baltimore, Rochester, Halifax, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Three Rivers (Que.), Salem (Mass.), Campbelltown (NB), Houston and Atlanta, among others. The scrapbook appears to have been assembled by an underwriter from the firm of Royal Insurance Company of Liverpool.

The collection consists of Shelden's collected correspondence with book dealers, and notes and cards with bibliographical information about his collection. Among the documents of interest include a signed letter from Sir Joseph Banks and a photograph of Robert Louis Stevenson, as well as a volume of original drawings used to illustrate one of Dumont D'Urville's voyages.

Collection consists of manuscripts from various sources relating to the Spanish Civil War and to various anti-Franco organizations in Canada and the United States to support the Republican cause. Included are manuscripts; correspondence; scrapbooks containing clippings, correspondence, documents and prints; and records relating to the fiftieth anniversary of the Spanish Civil War including photographs, memorabilia, awards and audio recordings.

The collection consists of correspondence, diaries and documents (mainly photographs) pertaining to Stefansson's Wrangel Island expedition.

The collection consists of holograph manuscripts and copies of manuscripts by Thompson, including two drafts for his projected book: a narrative account of his explorations in western America from 1784 to 1812. It also includes several sketches of mountain elevations, some of which were published in J.B. Tyrell's 1916 edition of the Narrative, and several other fragments of manuscripts by Thompson, typed transcripts of his journals, and photostats of other original Thompson material held elsewhere.

The collection consists of typescripts of West's two books, Toronto (1967, revised in 1979) and The Firebirds: An Account of the First Fifty Years of the Ontario Provincial Air Service (1974), along with photographs, galleys, editorial notes, newspaper clippings, articles and reports relating to the City of Toronto.

B2000-0014: Photographs document the activities of the University of Toronto Engineering Society which were used in publications such as the Skule Calendar, 1980-81 and 1982-83, as well as original photographs and layouts used in the book authored by Levine "A Century of Skill and Vigour". One copy of a special Toike publication called Rodent Track, a parady of the car magazine Road and Track, is also included. (2 boxes and 1 item, 1977-1989)

The collection covers the personal and professional life of Jarvis. It contains general and business correspondence, typescripts, magazine articles, minutes of meetings, newspaper clippings and photographs. Much of the early correspondence consists of letters Jarvis wrote home to his family while he was at Oxford (1938-39) and while he was working in Britain (1942-55).

The collection consists of 100 photographs of 'medicinal and economic plants'.

Cowan when he was a research associate in the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research and in the Department of Teaching Laboratories, Faculty of Medicine.

B1997-0024: These records document the activities of Brian Land as an undergraduate at the University of Toronto and as a librarian; as executive assistant (1963-1964) to Walter Gordon when, as Minister of Finance, he presented his first budget in the House of Commons in 1963; as a member of the executive of the Davenport-Dovercourt Liberal Association (Gordon’s constituency), and as advisor to and partial author of Gordon’s incomplete memoir, Pursuit of an ideal – Canadian independence. They also cover his involvement in the 1962 federal election (the subject of his MA thesis) that was published in 1965 as Eglinton: the election study of a federal constituency. B2008-0015: This accession documents Prof. Land’s professional activities with the Canadian Library Association, the Ontario Library Association and the Institute of Professional Librarians prior to his appointment as Director of the School of Library Science in 1964. There is only one file related to talks on the University of Toronto Library to classes such as Paul Fox’s political science class. (5 boxes, 1957-1963)

Contains one photograph of an ice hockey team in which H. H. Wilkinson played in 1905 (see top left hand). It also contains one pastel coloured photograph of H. H. Wilkinson and his wife, presumably taken in 1900s or 1910s.

Records document Elisabeth Marani’s contribution to the production of “Miss Julie” by the U.C. Players Guild in October 1954 and “Brigadoon” by University College and St. Michael’s College in 1955. Records relating to “Miss Julie” include original costume sketches, preliminary designs for sets and props as well as a one page recollection written by Elisabeth Bacque (nee Marani). Records relating to “Brigadoon” include researched sketches for costumes, a program and clippings. Finally this donation also includes sketched designs for a U.C. Follies production.

B2009-0023: Film entitled "Undergradutes Presentation and Farewell to Sir Robert Falconer". This is a black and white silent film showing the presentation of a gift book to President Falconer in Convocation Hall. (1 film, March 1932)

Contents include one b/w photograph of the 1944 (4T4) graduating class of University of Toronto Chemical Engineering; signed au verso by class members; a certificate of degree; an offprint of an article co-authored with A. Dupre, published in Canadian Journal of Chemistry (1960), and a 25 year alumni certificate. Georgieff is thought to be one of the first Macedonians in Canada to graduate from university.

Photographs of field work ca 1940s include photoprints and negatives documenting Prof. Nuffield's geological expeditions with the Geological Survey of Canada and the Ontario Department of Mines. Locations include Mason Creek - Germansen Landing District and Cash Creek British Columbia as well as the Montreal River District and Harker Township in Ontario.

Four chronologically ordered volumes relating to research carried out by Professor George F Wright on Second World War defence projects for the federal government of Canada through the National Research Council of Canada.

The first volume is Defence Project CE-12 and encompassses the dates December, 1939 to June, 1942. It contains a series of chemical research reports related to wartime defence initiatives. The following three volumes consists of reports to ACE (Associate Commitee on Explosives) covering the dates August 1944 to June 1945. They contain reports, previously marked 'secret' relating to wartime research and experimentation on the explosive properties of compounds. Some of the reports contain photographs tipped in; there is also a file of loose photographs and correspondence.
