File consists of a fax from Fred Bratman, regarding a meeting with Nouwen to discuss the fundraising project. The fax contained a list of subjects that they needed to cover in the meeting. Includes three copies of the fax. Also includes a copy of a fax from Bogle & Gates law firm concerning potential tax treatment of donations by US residents for projects in Canada.

Interview with Charles H. Burnell - June 2, 1992

York Central Hospital - June 3, 1992

The theme of the address was "Caring for the Whole Person: the Relationship between Spirituality and Medical Care." Includes outline entitled "Care for the Whole Person," notes in Nouwen's hand entitled "Spirituality of the Caregiver," and a news clipping on the death of Tony Perkins. Also includes a handwritten manuscript in Dutch by Nouwen and a draft history of L'Arche in German, not by Nouwen.

Crystal Cathedral - June 21, 1992

File consists of correspondence, mainly with Robert Sculler and Gretchen Penner, and other material regarding Nouwen's appearance on the Hour of Power with Robert Schuller. Three consecutive services were taped on June 21st, Nouwen spoke on "Being the Beloved," "Becoming the Beloved," and "The Disciplines of the Beloved." Includes travel itinerary, brochures, flyers, and TV ratings. Includes many letters from people commenting on Nouwen's appearance on the Hour of Power. A letter from Gretchen Penner states that she sent Nouwen three videos, one copy of each Hour of Power. Also includes some correspondence in Dutch, possibly from the Hour of Power in Holland.

Chautauqua, New York - July 13 - 17, 1992

File consists of correspondence, mainly with Penny Austin, and other material regarding Nouwen giving a lecture at the Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua, New York. Nouwen was planning to bring two members of Daybreak with him. Nouwen became ill and was unable to give his lecture "The Life of the Beloved, in his place Sue Mosteller spoke on spiritual life and ministry to the physically and mentally handicapped. Includes flyers, brochures, pamphlets, postcards, forms, and information sheets from the Chautauqua Institute.

Paul Secondary School Staff Retreat - September 25, 1992

File consists of correspondence and other material regarding Nouwen speaking at the Staff Retreat for Pope John II Secondary School. Nouwen spoke on the theme of "Working Together." Includes Nouwen's handwritten notes for the talk. Includes correspondence with Mary Lou Halferty regarding arrangements for the retreat. Also includes a thank you note from Michael Monk and words and music for the song "We Are Your Hands."

L'Arche Agape - Sexuality Seminar - October 13 - 14, 1992

File consists of correspondence and other material regarding Nouwen giving a talk at L'Arche Agape, Hull, Quebec. Nouwen spoke on sexuality and affectivity. Includes notes in Nouwen's hand (in French and English) for the event entitled "L'Arche - Community - Guilt around the body." Also includes typescript outline of "The North American Culture and the Plan of God" a talk given by Nouwen at Aylmer. Also includes a memo from Carmen regarding a meeting with the staff from Msgr. Fraser Catholic College on the topic of sexual health and ethics.

Image - Ecumenical Morning Worship - November 20 - 22, 1992

File consists of a letter to Nouwen from Gregory Wolfe regarding arrangements for Nouwen's participation as homilist at the Image Ecumenical Morning Worship at Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, CA. The service concluded the conference, "Learning to Believe Again: Artists Talk About Their Art and Their Faith"that was sponsored by Journal and The Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley. Also includes a program from the service. File further contains conference-related correspondence after the event, as well as Nouwen's handwritten notes.
