The fonds covers the years of 1998, 2006-2014, while predominantly covering the years of 2007-2014. The fonds documents the work and activities of David C. Onley during his tenancy as the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from September 5, 2007 to September 23, 2014.
The fonds contains six series:
General files are comprised of reference and research files. Articles and clippings contains newspaper articles, publications and interviews that mention David C. Onley, as well as articles of interest collected for him. Correspondence includes outgoing, incoming, and internal office correspondence. Daily records comprise the bulk of the fonds and contain calendars and detailed textual and photographic documentation of Onley’s activities as Lieutenant Governor. The series also contains electronic records which are copies of the textual and photographic material within the daily calendars and daily activities files. Guest books contain bound books with signatures of visitors to the Lieutenant Governor’s events. Awards and regalia contains material and objects bestowed upon David C. Onley such as certificates and university regalia from convocation ceremonies and honorary degrees.

The fonds serves as a representative sample of the activities carried out, and the relationships engendered, during A.F.W. Plumptre's tenure as principal of Scarborough College from 1965 to 1972. Both official papers and personal documents are included. Official documents include: reports, correspondence, transcripts of speeches, and seating plans. Personal documents include: invitations, cards, photograph albums, clippings, publications, books, and artifacts.

Series A, University of Toronto Governing Council, covers the years 1963 through 2002. The Governing Council is the highest governing body of the University of Toronto. In 1963, the Governing Council drafted A Provisional Plan for Two Off-Campus Colleges in the University of Toronto, which established Scarborough College (later UTSC) and also Erindale College (later the University of Toronto Mississauga, or UTM). The series includes correspondence and address lists for various council members, by-laws for the council, and council minutes from 1973 to 2002. Also included are documents relating to the opening of the College in 1964 for extension courses and the formal opening in 1966. Materials regarding the design and construction of the College, including architectural drawings, are included as well, since the Governing Council oversaw the construction of the initial buildings.

First material is a book called "Decade Book"; highlights years of history of Scarborough College from 1962-1972; book by William E. Beckel, first dean of Scarborough College; book in B&W. First artifact is a booklet titled "University of Toronto Scarborough College" ; shows original diagrams and photos of Scarborough College; outlines college's educational philosophy, design philosophy, site features, use of the site and project order; complete booklet in B&W; middle portion of booklet has been torn from binding; no date or markings on booklet. Second artifact is poster with title "U of T Co-op, University of Toronto Scarborough; outlines co-op programs in Management and Computer Science; poster is in colour; picture of student on computer; no date or markings on poster. Third artifact is a booklet, titled "Scarborough college, University of Toronto"; contains photos and diagrams of Scarborough College similar to ones included in first booklet; contains information about Scarborough College's beginning, the site, the concept and the building; no year or date on booklet; no markings; booklet in perfect condition.
UTSC Photographic Services fonds
The UTSC Photographic Services fonds covers the years of approximately 1964 and 1966 to 2008. The collection represents an invaluable visual history of the University of Toronto Scarborough campus and is made up almost entirely of photographic materials – negatives, contact sheets, slides, and prints.
Photographs in the collection from the 1970s to 1994 are attributed to David Harford and photographs from 1994 onward are attributed to Ken Jones. Photographs cover a broad range of subjects, such as the buildings and grounds of UTSC, campus events, faculty, staff, students, and much more.

Series C: Photographic Prints contains all of photograph prints that were housed in paper folders and filing cabinets in the office of Ken Jones. The folders were arranged by subject. For the most part, folders are labelled by subject but the folders and some photographs were out of order when the records were transferred to UTSC Library. In some cases, folders contain photos that do not reflect the subject of the original folder label.

The collection consists of movie posters, ads, trading cards, postcards, books, magazines and journals, related to Frank Buck (Frank Howard Buck (1884-1950), a renowned American hunter, animal collector, film director, actor author and producer. The collection also consists of material related to zoo displays and architecture, catalogues and books related to zoo and animal collecting, photographs off various zoo related animals found in different parts of America and a board game. Black lacquer boxes with a floral painted pattern. Contains a note from Spiller with the following information: tiffin boxes were collected by a woman who attended the tiffin in honour of Chinese viceroy Li Hung Chung, possibly on the West coast. Tiffins contain dried coconut, watermelon seeds, and preserved bird's nest.

The series is divided into 6 subseries: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. The division is based on the 7-continent model, substituting Australia as a continent and replacing it with Oceania for greater geographical coverage.
