Includes personal and professional correspondence; personal photographs; official documents; receipts and invoices; typescript drafts of books; newspaper articles, passports, cultural and political pursuits. Various highlighted items in his collection include many interesting photographs documenting the May Day Rallies of 1933-4 in Hamilton, Ontario-suggesting that he had an active role in organizing these demonstrations. There are also a number of newspaper clippings (primarily from The Daily Colonist (Victoria, B.C.), documenting such issues as communism, the war in Vietnam, Cyprus, various actions taken by the Canadian Government, and celebrities such as Marilyn Munroe and Princess Diana. A series of postcards document a trip taken by Sam Lawrence across Europe in 1936. Also featured is a collection of photographs of Lenin from 1897-1917 from a book of photographs entitled “Lenin” edited by Vladimir Il’ich and a collection of postcards documenting the Third Congress of Komintern in Russia, 1919. Lastly, there are two typescript books dedicated to Morisse and written by Georgoula Beikos entitled “The Greece That Fights: A Collection of Articles in Russian”, and a book of poems written by political prisoners on the Cypriot island of Gioura after the Greek civil war from 1945-1949.

A collection of papers pertaining to the Keemlé family of Delaware, Washington, and Toronto. Although the family was American, several lived in Toronto in the years immediately before the First World War. One son, Ned, enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force at the beginning of the hostilities and was killed in France in 1915. Another son, Louis, enlisted in the American forces later in the war, but survived. The family also had connections to St Michael’s College, University of Toronto.

Scrapbook of North American Fire Reports
The collection consists of a disassembled scrapbook of insurance underwriters' reports and records, fire reports, original news clippings and photographs, and other miscellaneous material on various North American conflagrations between 1904 and 1918. Of particular local interest are the pages (five in total) devoted to the Toronto fire of 1904. Among the other major North American fires represented in the scrapbook include those in the cities of Baltimore, Rochester, Halifax, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Three Rivers (Que.), Salem (Mass.), Campbelltown (NB), Houston and Atlanta, among others. The scrapbook appears to have been assembled by an underwriter from the firm of Royal Insurance Company of Liverpool.

Collection of lecture notes and miscellaneous material relating to the philosophy of Sankara, a seventh century Hindu philospher. The lectures were delivered by Miss B.S.A. de Branconiere, also identified as 'Guru Sahasrara Satchitananda,' to the student members of the Oriental Literature Society of California. She is described as "an accredited Messenger from the Sankaracharya School of Philosophy, France." The collection also contains an Esoteric Dictionary which was compiled by Mary Elizabeth Gilmore in the mid-1950s. The Dictionary contains definitions of philosophical and literary terms drawn from the lectures. It appears Gilmore gathered and arranged the lectures in their present form sometime in the mid-1930s.

The letters dating from August to November 1922 describe Hughes' experiences in Toronto where she was treated with insulin by F.G. Banting. Collection contains material relating to the lives and experiences of PVK Tripe and his wife, Elizabeth Rannie Tripe, during the Second World War. This includes logbooks, diaries, telegrams, letters and photographs from this period encompassing the experiences of both active service and the homefront. The collection notably contains PVK Tripe’s flying logs, which outline every hour he spent in the air between 1939 and 1945 and also includes squadron transfers, locations, missions and type of aircraft, as well as Elizabeth Tripe’s diaries from 1943 and 1944, with earlier selections from June 1941 and May 1942. Of particular note are telegrams received by Tripe after he was awarded the DFC, as well as letters written back to Canada by Elizabeth Tripe. Albums put together by Elizabeth Tripe, both prior to and during the war, outline her courtship with Tripe, their wedding and her life in Chester, as well as family members and friends. Loose photographs from throughout the war showcase Tripe in casual and professional shots, posing with squadron-mates, friends and airplanes at bases in England, Wales and Belgium. The collection also holds significant artefacts relating to PVK Tripe’s military career, of especial significance, includes pieces from his destroyed aircraft which were recovered by Karel Baetan and gifted to his daughter, Anne Tripe Crossman in 2013, his miniature dress medals, pins, cap badge and scarf, as well as pilots license and passports.

Lilian Wetstein Mendelssohn Papers
Collection includes letters and postcards addressed to Lilian Wetstein Mendelssohn from Anne, Gertrude and Horace Traubel. Horace Traubel (1858-1919) was Walt Whitman’s literary executor, as well as a poet, essayist and magazine publisher. Horace and his wife Anne (1864-1954) cultivated groups of artistic and cultural individuals, as well as those that supported the beliefs of Walt Whitman, of which Lilian Mendelssohn, who resided in Montreal was one. Lilian Wetstein corresponded with Horace Traubel and participated in meetings before her marriage to Sam Mendelssohn. She later kept in contact with Horace Traubel’s widow, Anne, as well as his daughter, Gertrude. The collection also contains a small amount of material, primarily Christmas cards, with other members of Traubel’s circle.

The collection includes some photographs and a postcard of Pidduck and other soldiers, two World War I pay books belonging to Pidduck, a certificate of authorization to drive and a journal, documenting his life as a soldier in Canada, England and France in 1916. The journal outlines his daily life, where he chauffeured people to, what he did with his free time, to whom he spoke and where he moved to. He stops writing in December of 1916 after nearly a year of consistent entries.
