Records from a research project by Dr. Robin Bagley, carried out at Sioux Lookout, Ontario between 1971 and 1974 as a part of the University of Toronto's Sioux Lookout Program. Included is financial data from the Department of Indian Affairs (1935-1966), summaries of Sioux Lookout reports (1952-1968), drafts of the research proposal and of the report, notes and computer generated report on the views of patients, maps, press clippings and publications..

Series consists of four maps produced by Costa Rican divisions of the United Fruit Company. Series also includes five photographs which appear to be reprints of publicity photographs acquired from the United Brands Company Headquarters in New York in the 1980s. Photographs include depictions of United Fruit Company plantations, including in Guatemala.

Consists of material created or gathered by F.G. Shears in his capacity as the director of the Vancouver branch of the office of the Custodian of Enemy Property. The Vancouver office was established in 1942 following the attack on Pearl Harbor, with the special purpose of overseeing the seizure and, later, liquidation of assets of Japanese removed from the Pacific exclusion zone for internment. The office also helped with the administering of Japanese claims for remuneration in accordance with the findings of the Royal Commission, and Justice Henry Irving Bird, in 1950. The office was closed on March 31, 1952.

Collection of maps, landscapes and some portraits, printed between the sixteenth-early nineteenth centuries. The maps primarily document Europe and European countries, with a smaller selection of maps of Asia.

This collection of Bevington’s papers contains a variety of material ranging from his time before Rochdale (albeit sparsely), his time at Rochdale, the founding of the Coach House Press, professional correspondence, materials relating to publications, and other business-related records. The papers contain much personal material relating to Bevington, including correspondence and invitations. Many of Bevington’s papers relating to Coach House Press business reside with Library and Archives Canada.

The collection consists of daily bird journals (1923-2000), daily bird records (1922-1949), first and last sightings records (1922-1990), and research records on the American Robin and the Lincoln Sparrow (1930s-1940s).

Contains the manuscripts and research of David G. Rempel, primarily on the topic of Mennonite life in pre-Revolutionary Russia. This collection includes the manuscripts of Rempel’s brother Johann (John) Gerhard Rempel, which have been translated by Rempel. As well as books, articles, manuscripts, diaries and other writing on the topic of Mennonites in Russia, and more widely, which was collected by Rempel for research purposes. In addition, the collection contains a large amount of Rempel’s correspondence with family, friends, scholars and researchers on the topic of Mennonite history.

Consists of various documents, maps, letters and bound volumes acquired by Louis Melzak. The majority of the items relate to the Morris and McLean families which had been collected in a scrapbook by Edmund Morris. The letters and documents had been arranged by Morris in two groups: those of the Alexander McLean family and those of the Alexander Morris family. He included a brief outline of the history of the McLean family and an index of those documents.
The bound volumes include an early printer's pay-book, the diary of a British soldier series in Upper Canada and material relating to the settlement of the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

The collection consists of holograph manuscripts and copies of manuscripts by Thompson, including two drafts for his projected book: a narrative account of his explorations in western America from 1784 to 1812. It also includes several sketches of mountain elevations, some of which were published in J.B. Tyrell's 1916 edition of the Narrative, and several other fragments of manuscripts by Thompson, typed transcripts of his journals, and photostats of other original Thompson material held elsewhere.

The fonds consists of writings, including memoirs, plays, and academic papers; materials relating to Trinity College and the University of Toronto; correspondence; printed materials; financial records; the records of the executor; and photographs of friends, family and travels.

The collection consists of three main items: posters, news and magazine clippings, and Radio Guide magazines. The posters are eclectic in taste, and focus on art, Indigenous rights, and advertisements. The Radio Guide material consists of supporting textual material like correspondence, reports, marketing strategies, and the magazines themselves. The news clippings come from a variety of sources.

Records created and collected by Tashichi Uyeno, primarily from 1939 to the early 1950s. They were kept in two-hole clip boards, and somewhat organized based on his business needs at Richmond Trading Company. The records are telegrams, handwritten letters, ledgers, and typed communication. They cover his proceedings with banks, as since he was importing and exporting goods, he had to balance multiple currencies. He also aided his father’s oar company, and some of the ledgers track his sales and costs. Letters form his sister in Japan are interspersed and offer a look into his personal life.

There is a shift in the records as WWII continues and Japanese Canadians are sent to internment camps. His records also cover this period, though they shift from Richmond Trading Company, to Uyeno’s writing to the Office of the Custodian, arguing for the proper evaluation of his personal belongings and forced sale of his assets. His letter to his sister continue and chart the family’s needs in Japan as well.

The material is mix of textual materials encompassing many details of the Uyeno family’s life from mostly 1939 to 1947. Many early records where created from the daily business of Tashichi George Uyeno’s business, Richmond Trading Company. The records are intermixed with letters from Mary Uyeno, who aided the business from Japan. Her letters include business information but also more personal discussions about family matters. They offer a glimpse into the life of many Japanese Canadians who grew up in both countries, identifying as both Canadian and Japanese.

Records also include correspondence with the Office of the Custodian, as the Uyeno’s assets were seized and sold. There is also official notices from the Office of the Custodian notifying the family to move further east and eventually to Ontario. Letters from the later part of the 40s are in regards to the Bird Commission and the sale of larger assets, such as the family’s property in North Vancouver.

Collection of Bevington's papers related to the founding and running of Coach House Press, includes professional and personal correspondence and material collected by Bevington. Contains material from his time at Rochdale College and the files for SoftQuad, the company co-founded by Bevington that was at the forefront of the digital age in publishing. Library and Archives Canada also holds a significant amount of Coach House Press materials.
