Bulletin 1966-1969

File includes three issues of the Scarborough College Bulletin, which provides information on faculty, courses offered and other program requirements dating 1966-1967, 1967-1968, 1968-1969.

General Program in Arts and Science

Subseries C.1, The General Program in Arts and Science, covers the years 1966 through 1969. The General Program was the only available academic track for Scarborough College students during the first four years of operations. Students were given the option to pursue a degree in arts or sciences, and then given a set timetable covering a broad range of subjects in that discipline. The subseries includestimetables, course descriptions, examination results, memos, and other material related to the general program.

[Transportation]

File includes correspondence regarding transportation to Scarborough College, encompassing both vehicular traffic (roads) and access by bus (TTC). Also includes bus schedules and a report by Principal A.F.W. Plumptre regarding a proposed public road through Scarborough College's valley property.

[Campus Tours]

File includes memos, correspondence, and other documents regarding campus tours planned around the opening of the campus. Also includes campus tour material from 1973.

Communications & Public Affairs

The subseries B.12 Communications & Public Affairs covers the years 1996 to 1992, 2002, and 2005. The department of Communications & Public Affairs, composed in part from prior departments such as Publications Office and the Community Relations Office, is responsible for the outward promotion of the university’s image to stakeholders, including prospective and current students, through various media channels. The department also publishes the Annual Review, the annual student recruitment Viewbook, and other publications; it is responsible for the website and social media outlets; and it directs marketing and advertising of the university. The files in this subseries include issues of many Scarborough College/UTSC publications, including the Bulletin, UTSC Live, To Be Taken Internally/Internally Yours, Spectrum, and Inside UTSC, as well as other documentation.

General Program

File includes material related to curriculum and academics at Scarborough College. The College offered two general programs, one in arts and the other in science, from its inception until 1972. Also included are counselling information, and a description of The "New Programmes" at Scarborough College.

Department of Physical and Environmental Science

Subseries C.14, Department of Physical and Environmental Science, covers the years 1966, 1976 through 1980, 1989, and 1993. The subseries includes schedules for educational television lectures, course descriptions, curriculum change notices, a journal issue for environmental science, and a handbook for chemistry.
