Later advisory work

Records relating to post 1992 work that Prof. Cameron did with the Ontario Government, providing advice on constitutional matters throughout the 1990s, and then with the Panel on the Future of Government in Ontario (2002-2004). Prof. Cameron (with Graham White and Celine Mulhern) produced Democracy in Ontario, a report for the Panel on the Future Role of Government in Ontario, in August 2003.

Phases

Ontario Government Records on Constitutional Renewal records relate to a variety of meetings and groups (including those in other subseries) that were kept by Prof. Cameron, typically in chronological order (ex. one file per month) or by project phases. These files include minutes, draft reports, briefing books, correspondence, and other records.

Multilateral Meeting on the Constitution

Records relating to the Multilateral Meetings on the Constitution include lists of delegates, meeting transcripts, legal decisions, meeting reports, records of meetings, status reports, drafts, and memos. Many of these records are mixed in with records for the Continuing Committee on the Constitution (see above).

Continuing Committee on the Constitutions

The series also contains significant documentation from the Continuing Committee on the Constitution (CCC), including reports, proposals, drafts, discussion papers, briefing notes, background documents, proposed clauses, responses from provincial governments, and agendas. Records include the opinions and reactions of many of the provinces with regards to proposed constitutional and senate reform. Records from the Multilateral Meetings on the Constitution (see next section) may also be filed in some of these folders.

Constitutional Advisory Group

Prof. Cameron also chaired the Constitutional Advisory Group (CAG) in his capacity at the Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs. One of its goals was to promote the Ontario Government's proposal for the inclusion of a social charter in the Constitution. Records from this group include correspondence and memos, proposals, agendas and minutes, and notes. These records were typically filed chronologically; this arrangement has been maintained.

Constitutional Working Group

The series begins with the records of the Constitutional Working Group (CWG), whose purpose was to "advise the Attorney General and support the Deputy Ministers' Committee in the work which it is undertaking in the post-Meech environment."

Books of the Bible

Sub-series consists of typed and handwritten notes, organized by books of the Bible (Old Testament), detailing illuminations, illustrations, and other details of each book from various versions of the Bible that were examined. Many files also include a typed manuscript detailing the findings. Some files also include photocopies of reference material.

Research sites

Sub-series consists of type- and hand-written lists of Bibles held at various repositories, with detailed notes on bindings, illustrations, illuminations, and other elements.

General

Sub-series consists of general records relating to research for the Bible project. Records include correspondence, grant records, notebooks, articles by Brieger and others, and other research materials. The last file in the series consists of samples of the cards that were created for the project, which include photographs of illustrations. These cards have been retained only as a sample, in order to demonstrate the project’s methodology. The remainder of the cards are still with Dr. Paul. One oversized folder contains a large chart, that indexes features of each Bible edition.

Subseries consists of records relating to opera productions, including correspondence, budgets, alterations to scripts and scores, rehearsal schedules, technical drawings, set and prop lists, programs, reviews, press releases, and performer agreements.

Subseries consists of general correspondence and correspondence regarding teachers of the Opera School, later the Opera Department, and now the Opera Division. Correspondence relates to the operations of the Opera School, including budgets, hiring of teachers, particular productions, and the Opera School film project with the National Film Board. Subseries includes both incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Orchestrations

Subseries consists of parts from dance band orchestrations used by Harry Culley during his time as conductor of the Royal York Orchestra (1929-1930) and as Music Director at the Royal Alexandra Theatre (1948-1955). Many of the parts are annotated for performance, and some files include manuscript parts copied by Harry Culley.
