Collection contains correspondence, copies of sources, notes, illustrations, photographs, microfilms, and other working papers for Ezra Schabas's book Theodore Thomas : America's conductor and builder of orchestras, 1835-1905 (University of Indiana Press, 1989). The collection also contains articles and lecture notes for presentations written by Schabas about Thomas.

Collection consists of 34 promissory freight notes for merchandise and peltries shipped aboard the King’s Armed Vessels between British Garrisons on Lake Ontario, Lake Erie and Lake Huron (1778-1787). This series includes thirty holograph notes and four printed forms with holograph additions. The printed form are likely produced by William Brown, Quebec’s first printer. Collection also contains 12 manuscript documents and letters on the hardships experienced by fur traders and merchants in their attempts to conduct business in the Great Lakes region (1783-1793). These documents primarily illustrate the experiences of three prominent fur traders: Philippe-Francois de Rastel de Rocheblave, James Ellice and Toussaint Pothier.

Personal records of Dr. Henry J. Cody, former President of the University (1932-1944), members of the Cody family including his son Maurice, and his second wife, Barbara Blackstock Cody. Consists of 12 accessions of records.

Henry John Cody records document his activities with external organizations including his role on the Royal on University Finances. Also includes sermons, clippings, photographs, pamphlets, programmes, diplomas, certificates for honors, etc. Other records document Barbara Blackstock Cody and her activities mainly relating to architectural conservancy and the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship (1977). Photographs document Henry John Cody's activities at the University of Toronto and other organizations.
