Jane Carson Champagne, artist, writer, and teacher, was born on 17 July 1930 in Toronto. She graduated from Trinity College in 1952. She created drawings for the volume Trinity 1852-1952, and exhibited in the Trinity College Art Sale. She became an artist and teacher in Killarney, Ontario, and wrote for magazines such as Macleans, Homemaker, and The Canadian Composer. She was also the founder of the Ontario Outdoor Painting Society. In her book, Painting the Ontario Landscape, published by the University of Toronto Press in 1991, she describes her adventures of painting throughout the countryside.
Jane Carson married Jean-Remi Champagne (born 11 July 1925) and they had two daughters, Sophie and Ann. Jane Champagne died in Southampton, Ontario, on 28 March 2008.
