Scope and content

Item consists of 1 audio cassette featuring a talk given by Jean Vanier at an Assistants' Retreat in Erie, PA, in August 1984.

Content notes (or transcription) from beginning of the recording: Sometimes people say to me: Isn't dismal to be living with people with disabilities? As if living with normal people isn't depressing! With our people we celebrate and have fun. We must go deeper into the truth of Jesus, It is the day we accept our wounds we can begin to celebrate, It's a great mystery. The Good News is announced to the poor, not to those who serve the poor.
