File consists of one letter from Andrew J. Weaver, M.Th., Ph.D., expressing appreciation for Nouwen's writing. Weaver is a Methodist pastor and psychologist, and he directs a program for the mentally retarded and mentally ill in Hawaii, and writes to tell Nouwen about this program. He encloses a copy of an article that he published on the role of clergy in preventing suicide among seniors (from the Quarterly Review). Weaver goes on to tell Nouwen about a book he is publishing titled "Meditations on Aging and Christian Spirituality," all profits will be given to the Duke University Program on Religion, Aging and Health to research religion and health issues. Weaver asks if Nouwen would like to contribute to the collection of meditations.
Also included with the letter is a copy of the table of contents of "Meditations on Aging and Christian Spirituality."
