Scope and content

File consists of one letter from Wesley Granberg-Michaelson, General Secretary, on behalf of the Office of the General Secretary of the Reformed Church in America (New York, NY), inviting Nouwen to lead their General Synod in 1997 on a topic of how people integrate the life of the mind (study, world view, etc) with the renewal of their lives biblically and spiritually. Their theme comes from Romans 12:1-2. Letter includes copies of Granberg-Michaelson's last two reports to the General Synod, the first from June 11, 1995 titled "Vision for the Future" and the second from June 9, 1996 titled "Transformed & Renewed: Responding to a Culture in Crisis."
