File consists of four letters and a card from Mary Elizabeth O'Brien, expressing appreciation for Nouwen's writing and discussing her work as a nurse researcher exploring physical and psychosocial coping in life threatening illness, including HIV/AIDS. File also includes a letter from O'Brien to Doubleday requesting her first letter be forwarded to Nouwen, photocopies of pages from her books where she quotes Nouwen, a few pages and an outline (in draft form) of a book in progress showing how she wants to incorporate Nouwen's ideas, and photographs of the AIDS memorial quilt (organized through The NAMES Project, San Francisco, CA). File also includes a copy of a typed letter from Nouwen.
