1. Letter is typed, 1 page, and dated December 17, 1994. Letter was written from L'Arche Daybreak (on Daybreak letterhead). Nouwen thanks Sr. van de Meyden for her letter, and for her gift of Pope John Paul II's book. He was glad she enjoyed With Burning Hearts and says that the book will definitely be translated and published in the Netherlands. He concludes by asking that she keep him in her prayers. Letter is signed.
2. Letter is typed, 1 page, and dated July 11, 1994. Letter was written from L'Arche Daybreak (on Daybreak letterhead). Letter is very brief, and Nouwen thanks her for her letter, and says it is good to hear from her. He concludes by saying she might like a copy of a little book he just wrote. Letter is signed.
3. Letter is typed, 1 page, and dated February 24, 1994. Letter was written from L'Arche Daybreak (on Daybreak letterhead). Letter is brief, and Nouwen thanks her for her letter and her enclosed article. He says he appreciated her words about affirmation. He concludes by saying "it would be nice if the E.O. would repeat the program but I am not sure if they are open to that," and thanks her for writing to them. Letter is signed.
4. Letter is typed, 1 page, and dated January 10, 1994. Letter was written from L'Arche Daybreak (on Daybreak letterhead). Letter is brief, and Nouwen thanks her for her letter and says "it is a joy to read your encouraging words. It helps me to continue to write when I receive letters such as yours." Letter is signed.

First letter contains underlining annotation under: "Please keep me in your prayers."
Second letter contains short annotation by Sr. van de Meyden, in Dutch, on the reverse of the letter.
