Marguerite Joyce Jeffrey Finlay Mudge was born on 18 April 1906, likely in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to Francis Jeffrey Finlay and Elizabeth Forsyth. Gordon Mudge entered Trinity College in 1924 and graduated with a BA in 1927. Gordon Mudge served as secretary-treasurer of the Royal Conservatory from 1956 until his death.
