Originally named Publications Office and the Community Relations Office, Marketing and Communications at UTSC is responsible for the outward promotion of the university’s image to stakeholders, including prospective and current students, through various media channels. The department also publishes the Annual Review, the annual student recruitment Viewbook, and other publications; it is responsible for the website and social media outlets; and it directs marketing and advertising of the university.

Fonds consists of material produced by the Marketing and Communications department at the University of Toronto Scarborough. The fonds consists of publications used to promote UTSC and its programs or services, anniversary planning files, memorabilia, building opening materials, news clippings, and other files.

Where possible original order has been maintained. As the fonds contains files from multiple persons and offices, some files have been brought together to create a comprehensive view of certain projects and functions of the department.

Prior to 2024 all UTSC files were placed in the Legacy collection, including many files from Marketing and Communications. Many related files from earlier Marketing campaigns exist in that collection.
