        K.D. (Kathleen) Miller is a Canadian poet, essayist, novelist and short story writer. She was born in Hamilton, Ontario and currently resides in Toronto. She has an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph specializing in English and drama, as well as a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia, specializing in directing.

        Miller's first story, 'Now, Voyager' appeared in the May 1981 issue of Flare and won first prize in the magazine's literary contest. Since then, her stories and essays have appeared in various publications including: Best Canadian Stores - Oberon, 2008 and 2009; Maisonneuve Magazine, The Capilano Review, Canadian Forum, The New Quarterly, Prism International and The Journey Prize Anthology. Miller is the author of four books, including three collections of short stories: A Litany in the Time of Plague (1994), Give Me Your Answer (1999), Holy Writ (2001), and one novel, Brown Dwarf (2010).

        Miller is also a founding member of Red Claw Press and the author of four of its chapbooks: Psalms of a Boomer Consumer, Counting the Ways: Unsent Love Letters; End Papers and Fresh Free-Range Poeggs.

        Miller has appeared as a keynote speaker and has chaired panel discussions at literary conferences. She also teaches creative writing courses and workshops.
