Name of creator
Frank Harmantas taught low brass at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, where he also started and directed the University of Toronto Trombone Choir.
Harmantas received a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois before joining the United States Army Band as Principal Trombone and Soloist. While in Washington, D.C., he also obtained a Masters Degree in Performance from the Catholic University of America. He also studied at Indiana University and the Eastman School of Music. In 1971, he joined the Toronto Symphony. He has also appeared as principal trombone with the CBC Orchestra, National Ballet Orchestra, and the Hamilton Philharmonic.

Scope and content
Collection consists of unpublished and manuscript scores and parts of arrangements and transcriptions by Frank Harmantas, created for the University of Toronto Trombone Choir. Collection also includes two manuscript arrangements by a student member of the trombone choir, John Wilson.
