Records in the fonds relate to Vivienne Poy’s family, education, writing and publishing, entrepreneurship, business and community leadership, philanthropy, public service and public profile. The fonds consists of four series: Family and education; Political papers; Personal, business and community; and Awards and Photographs. Many of Poy’s records are functionally and thematically interrelated across the four series and between files.

Poy, Vivienne

University of Toronto. Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work

This accession consists mainly of photograph albums assembled over 30 years documenting the Faculty of Social Work. Staff member Simon Woo was the photographer for many of these 4x6 coloured prints. Albums are arranged according to the following subjects and arranged in this order: Staff and Faculty Events; Convocations and Students; Anniversaries and Tributes; Talks and Initiatives; Fundraising and Donor Events; Visitors to the Faculty; and Alumni. There is also one group portrait of staff from 1996 and collage done by Woo of the Deans of Social Work from 1960-1989.
Finally, this accession also includes a binder documenting the Social Work Alumni Association which includes a collection of historical documents relating to the association as well as the School of Social Work.

Irene Romana Nosyk fonds

B2008-0025 consists of 13 works of art depicting various zoological specimens. A series of 7 works of art are oil on canvas and framed. They are for the most part untitled works, depicting the origin of life, algae, and caterpillars, among others, and were originally produced for an exhibition in the late 1960s. An unframed series of 6 oil on canvas paintings were produced by the artist for the University’s new Zoology building which opened in 1965. They were not acquired by the Department and never exhibited in the building.
This accession also contains 14 digital photographs showing Irene Nosyk painting charts for the Department of Zoology as well as 43 digital scans of an original scrapbook documenting Nosyk's work at the University of Toronto.
B2024-0028 consists of a scrapbook that highlights the types of drawings and paintings done for Zoology including cartoons, sketches, paintings of cells, calligraphy notes, title page artwork. There is also slides and negatives documenting many of the teaching charts in A2007-0019 as well as many of her other drawings she did for academic papers, newsletters, overheads, reports etc... Finally, saved a copy of Laboratory Exercises for First Year Student, Ramsay Wright Zoological Laboratories, presumably because it contains many her illustrations. Filed at the back are original drawings and photographs used for the illustrations.

File consists of 2 newspaper clippings about Julie Jai. One is a photo of Julie (9 years old) and Beatrice Jai joining Chinese celebration by St. Paul's Chinese Community at Sai Woo restaurant, published on Toronto Star. The other is a news report (laminated) about Julie Jai's story as a female Chinese lawyer in her early career, written by Olivia Chow and published on Zhong bao's Toronto division.

This collection contains materials relating to the work of Neil Fraser Cochrane during his time as a student at the Ontario College of Art (OCA) in the 1970s and thereafter. Cochrane was involved in editing, designing, and illustrating a variety of student publications which reflect the anti-establishment scene of the 1970s. This collection includes photographic material and invitations relating to Cochrane’s studies and publications at OCA.

Black Family album 2

74 pages of photographs taken between late 1940s and late 1950s, also contains 4 postcards and 1 sheet of newspaper clipping. This album captures the everyday and love life of Beatrice and Raymond Jai, as well as the weddings of Beatrice's two siblings (third elder brother Henry Lew with his wife Winnie, and second elder sister Florence King with her husband Peter King); some of the photographs are portraits of her siblings' or friends' kids.

Richard Lee fonds

This fonds contains comprehensive documentation on all aspects of Richard Lee’s work as a well-known anthropologist. Correspondence, found within Series 1 but also throughout the fonds, is multifaceted and includes both incoming and outgoing letters with colleagues, students, university administrators and publishers. His teaching lectures and numerous papers, talks and drafts of publications represent a full body of work that synthesis his research from his early work with the the Ju/'hoansi-!Kung San of Botswana and Namibia to his evolving interest in indigenous human rights and the impact of Aids/HIV in southern Africa. This fonds is rich in original research including original collated data, field notebooks, grants requests and general notes. Much of this is supplemented with photographs and sound recordings related to his research and publications. Finally, files relating to professional meetings and groups document the overall field of anthropology, Lee’s role within it and the changing nature of the discipline and the role of anthropologists in society.
