Administrative history

In 1881, the Duncan Lithography Company was established on the corner of John and King William streets in Hamilton, Ontario. In 1904, the business was acquired by Messrs. Frank R. Close and Gordon J. Henderson, and was incorporated by Dominion Charter in 1909. In its early years, the company was known for its production of stationery, wedding cards, visiting cards and engravings. In January of 1978, the Duncan Lithography Company was bought out by the Reid Dominion Packaging Ltd. At that time, the Duncan Lithography Company was making labels for canned goods and cartons for cigars.
