File consists of correspondences and other related material between Richard B. Donovan and O'Neill-Karch. Specifically, items in file include:

  • Photo of RBD and MO outside of St. Basil's, graduation day 1962.
  • Manuscript note (undated) from RBD to MO, appended to a letter from David Smith (August 12, 1970) concerning technical details about the marking of examinations.
  • Postcard from RBD to MO (November 26, 1971), from Strasbourg. Has been visiting students doing their third year abroad.
  • Letter from RBD to MO (Paris, April 17, 1972) dealing with (1) technical matters concerning pre-enrolments in French courses (2) the possibility that MOK could become Associate Registrar and (3) details about his travels in Europe.
  • Manuscript letter from RBD to MOK & PK (Paris, May 23, 1972), congratulations on our wedding & some details on his trip to France.
  • Letter, MOK to RBD (April 6, 1974), requesting consideration for promotion,+ c.v.
  • Letter, RBD to MOK (May 28, 1974), explaining why promotion not granted. Also, manuscript note from RBD, "I do hope that you can understand the Committee's position and that you are not angry with me... "
  • Manuscript letter to MOK & PK (May 25, 1976), thanking them for reading material brought to hospital. Details about his recovery.
  • Manuscript letter to MOK & PK (September 19, 1981), thanking them for dinner.
  • Memorandum from RBD to members of the SMC Dept. of French (May 31, 1988), thanking them for the retirement reception held in his honour.
  • Card from Mary-Catherine (Ware) Birgeneau 6T2 (October 22, 2000), discussing her husband's installation as U of T president and especially thanking me for inviting her to a lunch at the college before which she was able to present RBD with his Arbor Award.
    She included two photos of the event.
  • MOK to MCB (October 31, 2000). Photocopy of a manuscript note thanking MCB for the photos and giving news of RBD who fell out of bed and bruised his hip.
  • Xmas card (2002).
