Scope and content
Series consists of records documenting Prof. Simeon’s work relating to South Africa – in particular documenting his influence on public administration in the country during the early post-apartheid years. Prof. Simeon first traveled to South Africa in 1995, holding workshops on federalism and progressive democracy. He returned often and continued to advise the newly elected democratic government of post-apartheid South Africa on public administration. He also worked closely with a colleague at the University of Cape Town, with whom he often co-taught in both Toronto and Cape Town. Records include presentations to South African officials, annotated drafts of the South African constitution, papers, course material, correspondence, notes and other records.
Digital files include email correspondence, research material, article drafts, and other records.
