Scope and content
The series consists mainly of course outlines and lectures written and delivered by Mr. Jackson while teaching an evening tutorial class in Economics in the Department of University Extension at the University of Toronto during the fall and winter of 1957-1958 . Mr. Jackson had been hired by the department to replace Prof. Helleiner who was on sick leave [2]. The series also contains incoming and outgoing correspondence between Mr. Jackson, assistants, acting directors and students regarding his teaching activities at the University of Toronto, as well as McGill University (1940) and McMaster University (1949). No records relating to his teaching at the University of Toronto prior to World War II are included in this series. The correspondence is predominantly between Mr. Jackson and Myron Kuzyck, a former student, on the subject of Kuzyck’s legal case, education, lectures delivered, employment and other personal matters (1952-1953).
