Scope and content

This subseries consists of course material for POL211 Canadian Political Parties, which Clarkson taught between 1983 and1985. Clarkson also taught the course between 1988 and 1990 (the course was then titled POL211 Canadian Political Parties: Power versus Participation), and in 1998-1999 (the course was then titled POL211 The Citizen against the State: Power versus Participation). Records in this subseries include lecture notes, presentation/lecture slides, course outlines, examination outlines and templates, blank course evaluation questionnaires, and some student essays. Also included is material used to build course and lectures, which mostly consists of annotated articles and essays, notes, and newspaper clippings. There is also correspondence with other professors as well as with a number of guest lecturers, including Michael Adams, former President of National Polling Trends, Peter Donolo, former Director of Communications for Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, and Gerald Godin, former Député de Mercier for the Parti Québécois.
