Records in this series mainly document Stephen Clarkson’s role as a policy advisor for the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC). As a member of the national executive, he attended various meetings and conferences. These are documented along with yearly policy conventions. There is also extensive documentation on Clarkson’s role as chair of the Policy and Research Committee (1973) and as a member of the Standing Policy Committee that provided content for speeches, policy statements and general research on issues. Files contain notes, correspondence, meeting minutes, policy documents and drafts, planning documents and research data. Records also include files relating to Clarkson’s roles as campaign, conference and convention organizer and contributor and as member of the Rosedale Liberal Association. Files and correspondence of Patrick “Pat” Sheppard, Youth Director of the Liberal Federation of Canada and campaign advisor for John Turner in his 1968 leadership campaign, Allen M. Linden, member of the LPC National Executive and Douglas Floyd, research director of the Liberal Party of Ontario, are also included. This series is arranged in chronological order.
