Scope and content

This series documents conferences in which Kidd had either participated in, or, to a lesser degree, had a role in organizing. Files in this often contain notes, correspondence, programs and, at times, papers collected from other presenters. Topics of these reflect Kidd’s research areas and advocacy including sport history, sport for development, physical education, and general themes around sport and society including health, gender and violence.

Of particular note, are the proceedings for the 5th Canadian Symposium on the History of Sport and Physical Education, University of Toronto, that he organized in 1982. There are also several files relating to the Ontario Sociocultural roundtable which brought together researchers on issues around the study of sport.
