        History

        John Allan Irving was born in Drumbo, Ontario in 1903. He entered Victoria College in 1922 and graduated in 1926 with the Regent's Gold Medal. He completed two Master's Degrees at Trinity College, Cambridge and started his teaching career at Princeton University. He returned to Victoria College in 1944 to teach ethics and social philosophy. He also became the head of the Ethic Department. John Allen Irving died in 1965.
