History
Cassandra Kobayashi was born in 1952 and studied law at the University of Toronto. After graduating, she relocated to Vancouver to help shape the grassroots movement seeking redress for Japanese Canadians and their internment by the federal government during the Second World War.
Cassandra served on the national Redress Committee that negotiated the historic 1988 settlement with the Government of Canada, afterwards documenting its events in Justice in Our Time: The Japanese Canadian Redress Settlement (1991) with co-author, Roy Miki.
Cassandra resides in her retirement in Vancouver, BC, where she dedicates her time to writing about the art of living with diabetes.
