        History

        Ruth Martin (neé Campbell) was born in 1908 in Toronto. She taught at Eastern High School of Commerce. For many years, she spent her summers near Norway Point in the Lake of Bays area and became interested in the history of the area. She was preparing to write a history of the area before ill health forced her to give up the project. She died in 1996.
