This series consists of records pertaining to the 26th G8 Summit, which took place in Nago, Okinawa Prefecture from July 21 to July 23, 2000. Records in this series include major summit documents, minor summit documents, official documents of member countries, records relating to bilateral meetings, and records issued by non-member groups. This series also consists of newspaper, web, and magazine clippings, and other research materials pertaining to G8 nations and various economic, environmental, social, and political issues.
Also included in this series are research materials, reports, papers, lectures and presentations, course outlines and syllabi, press releases, schedules, contact lists and correspondence generated by the G7/G8 Research Group. Additional materials relate to conferences attended by G7/G8 Research Group Members around the time of the Okinawa Summit, including the Kyushu-Okinawa Summit on "The Challenges and Opportunities for the Developing World in the 21st Century", the World Economic Symposium, the 25th Annual Conference of the Japanese Association for Canadian Studies, and the International Symposium on Perspectives of the 21st Century, including conference agendas and programmes, lists of speakers and participants, conference papers and presentations.
This series includes video tapes of conferences and speakers presented by the G7/G8 Research Group, as well as a promotional CD-ROM distributed at the summit. Finally, this series includes items collected at the summit.
