History
Jon Robert Pearce (1937-2015) was a Canadian educator, editor, writer and athlete. He was a member of the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games Team as a single-scull rower and a prominent Toronto squash player. He taught at Upper Canada College from 1975 to 1996, and served as head of the English department. He wrote and edited a number of books championing Canadian literature and poetry, including Marked by the Wild: Literature Shaped by the Canadian Wilderness (1973) (co-edited with Bruce Littlejohn), Mirrors: Recent Canadian Verse (1975) and Twelve Voices: Interviews with Canadian Poets (1980).
