Eila Hopper Ross (nee Hopper) was a medical illustrator. Though she had early aspirations herself of going into medicine, she was not aware of medical illustration as a profession. She studied for two years in the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, under the direction of Professor Max Brodel.
